The Canopy

The canopy is the fifth layer in the rain forest. The canopy is located 80-150 feet above the ground. This is where all of the sunlight is absorbed so it can’t reach the forest floor.

The Emergent Layer

The emergent layer is the sixth layer, which is at the top of the rain forest. It is around 200 feet above the forest floor. The trees in this layer have to be able to handle strong winds. Some of them even have seeds that are able to be moved by the wind. Some animals that live in this layer are bats and eagles.
