EXECUTIVE SUMMARY

1.0 LOCATION

Chandmari Area (Latitude 260 00’; Longitude 750 46’) is located 1 km north west of Khetri town in Jhunjhunu district, Rajasthan. The Chandmari area forms the extreme southern part of Kolihan South block and is covered in the Survey of India Toposheet No. 44 P/16. Khetri town is well connected with Jaipur and Delhi by an all weather metalled road. The nearest railway station is Neem-Ka-Thana on the Rewari-Ringus section of the Western railway.

2.0. GEOLOGY AND STRUCTURE

The rock formations of the area belong to the Alwar and Ajabgarh groups of the Delhi Supergroup. The main rock types outcropping in the area are andalusite-biotite-quartz-schist-phyllite, amphibole-quartzite, talc-magnetite-amphibole-schist and felspathic quartzite. Quartz veins and metabasic rocks are the common intrusives.

The area has undergone intense folding, which has resulted in frequent changes in the strike of the formations in the area. The general strike of the formations in the quarry sector is N40oW – S40oE whereas in Southern and Eastern sectors the strikes are N68oW – S68oE and N80oW – S80oE respectively, with southerly dips between 30o – 50o.

3.0 MINERALISATION

Amphibole-quartzite is the main host rock for Copper mineralisation in the area. Another new lode has been encountered in talc-magnetite-amphibole-schist. The control of mineralisation is in the form of Chalcopyrite and occurs as veins, disseminations and stringers. The other sulphide minerals are pyrrhotite and pyrite.

4.0 QUANTUM OF WORK DONE

MECL has carried out detailed Geological Mapping & topographical survey covering 0.54 Sq. Km area, 6942.20 Mtrs of drilling in 22 boreholes, 1398 (1317+81) number of primary and check samples for gold, Duplicate half core samples for gold by fire assay 33 Nos were analysed. 44 Nos of composite samples are analysed for copper. 27 Nos.of samples analysed by XRF method and 39 Nos. of samples analysed for 15 radicals by semi-quantitative spectrographic analysis. Petrographic studies on 6 Nos.of samples and Minerographic studies on 29 Nos of samples was also carried out by MECL. Based on the results of above data and earlier work done by GSI a Geological report was prepared .

5.0 ORE RESERVE ESTIMATION

The exploration programme carried out has covered the strike length of 400 metres in the southern sector and 300 meters in the eastern sector. Exploration was confined to a vertical column of 150 metres between 350 MRL and 200 MRL. The lodes in the southern sector and the eastern sector appear to be the same set of lodes being repeated due to folding.

A total of 3.87 mt of reserve estimated with 1.08% Cu at o.50% Cu cut-off between

350 MRL and 200 MRL, out of which 3.12 mt with 0.99% Cu falls under probable category of reserves. An order of magnitude study on techno-economic aspect of the prospect indicates that the prospect can sustain 400 TPD mine with life of 20 years and the capital investment can be recovered in 9 – 10 years period.

The Deposit has been classified as Category ‘C’ of UNFC 332.

The Total Cost of Exploration is Rs. 284.29 Lakhs.
