Documents not printed in the English language must be officially translated into English. Translations done by the Embassy of the document-issuing country, or a local Notary Public are acceptable. A privately translated copy attested by the Embassy of the document-issuing country or notarized by a local Notary Public is also acceptable. Fees A processing fee of S$35.00 (Singapore dollars) in the form of cheque, money order or bank draft drawn from any local bank in Singapore made payable to Commissioner ICA. ARTICLE 128 OF THE CONSTITUTION OF REPUBLIC OF SINGAPORE

RENUNCIATION OF SINGAPORE CITIZENSHIP
1. National Service (NS) is vital to the defence and security of Singapore. Under the Enlistment Act, male Singapore citizens and Permanent Residents are liable for NS.
2. We would like to inform you that under Article 128(2) of the Constitution of the Republic of Singapore, the Government may withhold a person’s application for renunciation of Singapore citizenship if he is subjected to the Enlistment Act and has not discharged his NS liability.
3. Those who are allowed to renounce their Singapore citizenship without serving NS will face serious adverse consequences in their immediate or future applications to work, study or live in Singapore. They will not be granted Permanent Resident status or citizenship in the future.
