Properties of water

• Water is colourless, tasteless and

odourless.

• Water is liquid at room temperature,Ice as

a solid and Steam as vapour.

• Density of water is 1000 kg/cc.

• Water is the Universal Solvent.

• Water freeze at zero degree Celsius and

boil at 100 degree Celsius.

SINK OR FLOAT

• Most of the objects float if it is Lighter in

weight or Density is less than water.

• Most of the objects float if it is Heavier in

weight or Density is more than water.

• Density is Mass per unit volume.

• Density of water is 1000 kg/meter cube.

• Only those objects float which can

displace the water as their weight.

Why is the ‘Dead Sea’ is dead?

All oceans and seas have salty water.

The saltiest of all is the Dead Sea.

There are no life in this sea due to its salinity.

Every things dropped in it certainly float whether know

swimming or not due to salinity of the water of the sea.

quickly, while some were left

EVAPORATION

Water turn into water vapour at higher

temperature even at room temperature. In

this process water return back in to water

cycle in atmosphere.
