DARING FAITH BEGINSOn April 2-3, 2016, the Crossroads Church Family will gather together to commemorate our 20th anniversary as a church with the bold launch of our next and most compelling spiritual growth experience.

DARING FAITH is a 24-month plan to empower us to grow in faith like never before.

GOING IN FAITH: Opportunities to help us LIVE by faith

Our goal is the same as that of the Apostle Paul: Our hope is that as we help your faith grow larger, you’ll be able to help this ministry to you grow larger too (2 Corinthians 10:15). In this brochure, you will learn some of the details about how we will trust God as we give in faith.

Dear Friends,

Being part of the Crossroads church family from the beginning has been one of the greatest blessings of my life.

What I love most about our church is that for 20 years our doors have been wide open to people from all backgrounds and in all stages of their spiritual journey.

It was the fall of 1995 when an idea came into my mind—an impression that I knew was from God. I didn’t hear an audible voice, but I caught the vision for a church like Crossroads in northern Colorado.

Phyllis and I invited 20 friends over to our house; we sat in our living room, and I explained the vision and the dream of where we could go as a church. We had no church name; no place to meet and no one had committed to join.

I said, “Someday this little group is going to be much larger, and someday we’re going to have our own church campus.” They all laughed, and so did I. It was ludicrous to think that our little group could ever become what we are now. We had reason to doubt. I had never been a senior pastor. I was a student pastor and a worship leader. But God was saying, “Go! Trust me…” And as an act of faith, we did.

Now we are ready to begin the next chapter on this adventure God is leading.

With the Daring Faith campaign, we are saying, “Lord as far as the responsibility lies with us, we refuse to ever live in a state of boredom or false safety. Rather, we want to be with you—out front—completely sold out to the kingdom of God.”

I am convinced that our best days are ahead, which is why God is challenging us with the most ambitious, faith-stretching and creative campaign in our history. Our Five Daring Faith Goals could easily cost $2.5 million to accomplish. And what will be the result of our daring faith? We will see more people find hope, healing and purpose. We will create more opportunities for people to connect with God and take their next step of faith. Hope is here!

So I ask you to join me again. You know that Phyllis and I will be sacrificing in faith, and it will take all of us sacrificing together in order to accomplish our goals.

I can’t think of anything I’d rather be doing. There is certainly no other group of people I’d rather be on the Daring Faith adventure with than all of you.

As I look at Crossroads I say, “Let’s go for it!” I think we are going to have a ball on this adventure.

FFILL God’s house with 5,000 worshipers at our weekend services by our 25th year, the year 2020. WHY? Because Jesus said: Urge anyone you find to come, so that my house will be full (Luke 14:23). HOW? Launch 2-5 new locations, to provide multiple Crossroads campuses where people worship and grow.

AASSIST more people with needs through local and global programs of care and support. WHY? Because Jesus said: Whenever you care for the least of these, you care for me (Matt 25:40). HOW? Devote at least 10% of the Daring Faith contributions to expand our Special Needs Ministry and start new local and global community service partnerships.

IINTERACT with our growing church fellowship through enhanced campus environments and new technologies. WHY? Because Jesus said: For where two or three gather in my name, there am I with them (Matthew 18:20). HOW? We will transform the entrances, atrium, east patio and chapel into dynamic gathering spaces for community interaction. We will upgrade to the technology necessary for communicating the weekend message in multiple locations.

TTRAIN 25% of our church family to be skilled leaders in the church and community. WHY? Because Jesus said: You are the salt of the earth and the light of the world. (Matthew 5:13-14). HOW? By starting the Crossroads Internship Program for students and by hiring a new teaching pastor who will reach young adults and young families and create learning opportunities for our next leaders to grow and serve.

HHELP the next generation belong and grow. WHY? Because Jesus said: Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these (Matt 19:14). HOW? By developing our GROW theme in the preschool center classroom spaces. By developing 11,000 square feet of existing space into a vibrant Kids and Student Center where adolescents learn how to BUILD a life of faith and teens SHIFT into owning their faith.

Our History of DARING FAITH AND LOVING SACRIFICECrossroads has a 20-year track record of attempting huge projects with God and expecting great things from God. Because our church has developed so many ministries and accomplished so many large projects, many people in our area have benefited from our signature programs, which include: Project One, Special Needs Ministry, Clean Water for Haiti, AIDS relief in Africa and our area, Habitat For Humanity partnerships, Covenant Kids Congo, Celebrate Recovery, Colorado Flood Relief, support groups, individual care and ministries for children and students.

Every program and ministry you experience at Crossroads today was made possible by the sacrificial giving of ordinary people who became faith leaders through their generosity. In order to give a special offering, people gave up many comforts and sacrificed their own plans. Many cut back on their spending or changed their vacations and major purchases in order to participate. Some people downsized homes, and others took on second jobs in order to contribute.

GETTING STARTED: 1995In the beginning, a core group of 60 said, “This church is not about us. It will be for our friends and neighbors who need a church home.” Together, they pledged $70,000 for our first year of ministry.

BUILDING FOR A LIFETIME: 2000-2003In our second campaign, 357 families gave $1.6 million over three years, in addition to their regular giving. We purchased 73 acres of land at 57th and Taft, created a site plan and broke ground.

TIME TO BUILD: 2003-2005After renting 12 different facilities over 8.5 years, the Crossroads family gave $1 million over and above their regular tithes and offerings in order to finish and move into the new facilities.

C3 (CHRIST, COMMUNITY, COMPASSION): 2006-2009In our fourth campaign, we focused on providing funding for Special Needs Ministry, a new church in Greeley and global partnerships in China and South Africa. Crossroads faith champions gave $1.9 million, in addition to their regular giving, during these three years.

NOW TODAY… As we prepare for our fifth and largest campaign, we have seen what God can accomplish when a group of people has daring faith in God and a willingness to join in something greater than themselves.

• Over 2,000 new believers have been baptized at Crossroads!• Over 70 small groups and studies meet weekly in homes and on our campus.• Nearly 550 participants volunteer on a serving team or in service ministries.• Nearly 8,000 people have served in Project One or service trips.• Our church family worships each weekend with nearly 2,000 people.• We are a welcoming and diverse family, with a Spanish language partner church.

We celebrate our history with joy and gratitude, and we believe the best is yet to come! God is now inviting each of us as individuals, and all of us as a family, to step out in faith again. Daring Faith will require the largest, riskiest and most sacrificial steps of faith we have ever taken. Just as God has been faithful to us in the past, God is faithful NOW! It’s time for the next chapter!
