The four Eurofighter programme nations have signed a roughly €200 million ($224 million) contract for a Phase 3 capability enhancement (P3E) package, intended to strengthen the type’s multi-role credentials. Although signed on the behalf of Germany, Italy, Spain and the UK, one of the main elements of the work will be the full integration of the MBDA Brimstone 2 air-to-surface missile for the latter’s Royal Air Force.
