The inter v iews w ith seniors over 65 that I conducted over the course of two months have famil iar i zed me w ith the da i ly pract ices and preferences of the e lderly. Most of the e lderly were ver y open and loved to t a lk . Some of them used to play Mahjong, a game of sk i l l and ca lculat ion commonly played by four players, but stopped playing because of health disabilit ies, l i ke ba lance d isorder, chron ic d isease and memory impairment. Only some of them can still read newspapers or books due to dec l in ing eyesight . Their s tor ies were sad,but at the same t ime inspired my solut ions–based projec t .

I w i l l share these post–re t irement s tor ies of my sou rce s a nd int roduce ent e r t a in ing a nd challenging Asian–style games, including Chinese chess, Mahjong and Sudoku, to the American public.
