Flow is completely focused motivation. It is a single-minded immersion and represents perhaps

the ultimate in harnessing the emotions in the

service of a task. In flow, the emotions are flow, the emotions are not just contained and channeled, but positive,

energized, and aligned. This body of work reflects a

focus on flow as it corresponds to water.

I've always enjoyed a good story. I pull text from the

Old Testament, Greek Mythology, a good joke,

personal experience, fantasy, and then embellish it both literally and visually. I try to merge the literal and the to merge the literal and the

abstract into a single composition. In a sense, I

consider many of my paintings to be contemporary

illuminated manuscripts.

Once an intriguing shape Once an intriguing shape captures my attention i record it in a sketch and play with its potential with my imagination to work into a sculpture or furniture piece. Eventually, I

express the shape to be realized with wood and metal realized with wood and metal in such a way that chords a feeling in which words cannot

touch.

Leonardo Da Vinci said, “Simplicity is the ultimate sophistication.

Jack Kerouac said, “One day, I will find the right words, and they will

be simple. I love texture and touch. My I love texture and touch. My

paintings and my furniture reflect my infatuation with these two

characteristics. From the materials I select, to the way I

craft each piece; these two remain my focus.

The examination of space and volume through absence and presence are integral to my

work. Through both chaotic systemization and repetitive

elements, my work intertwines the intersection of biological and industrial aesthetics that and industrial aesthetics that form the framework for our understanding of organizing

systems. Other relationships of interior and exterior

spaces, chaos and order, permeable and retentive, and line and light are my primary line and light are my primary

motivations whether abstract or representational in nature.
