  • New Graduation Requirements

    • Students may substitute designated STEM classes for one math credit and/or one science credit.

    • No student schedule may contain more than one study hall period on any day.

    • 30 Hours of Community Service

    • Proficiency in the Keystone Exams

  • The Keystone Exams

    • Algebra I, Biology, Literature

    • Proficiency is a PDE requirement for graduation, starting with the class of 2017.

    • Remediation and retesting are mandated for those who are not proficient.

  • Science, Technology, Engineering, & Math (STEM)

    • Project Lead the Way (PLTW)

    • Honors Level Electives

    • Year 1 – Introduction to Engineering Design

    • Year 2 – Principles of Engineering

    • Years 3 & 4 – Additional PLTW offerings (e.g. Aerospace Engineering, Computer Integrated Manufacturing)

    • Parent Information Night – February 4 at 6:30 p.m. in the high school auditorium

  • One-to-One Laptop Proposal

    • 2014-2015 each 9th grade student will be assigned a laptop for their time at the SHS.

    • Possible 2015-2016: assign laptops to two additional grade. 9th -11th grade will have laptops

    • Anticipating that students may take laptops home.

    • Researching liability insurance vs. self insuring.

  • Safety and Security • Laptops will be locked down for install of outside

    programs and major system changes.

    • Exeter will have software programs available that are necessary and useful that students can choose to install on their own.

    • Internet will be filtered and archived the same as it is in school.

    • Exeter IT Department will support and repair machines.

    • Exeter will provide an orientation program for all parents and students during the summer.
