Welcome to Exceptional Adventures!
A Subsidiary of Partners For Quality, Inc.
Exceptional Adventures is a non-profit organization with over 35 years of experience providing vacation
opportunities, events and monthly dances for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
Our Tours
Exceptional Adventures provides vacation planning for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities who
are 18 years of age and older and have good self-care skills. (Some tours are available for guests 16 or older!)
Exceptional Adventures can accommodate persons with special needs such as sign language, special dietary restrictions or
the visually impaired.
Most tours can accommodate persons in wheelchairs, but check with us first! Exceptional Adventures offers 24-hour
supervision with staff in guests’ rooms or in the immediate area. Highly trained, caring volunteers are assigned to the
same guests for the duration of each tour. Exceptional Adventures normally uses a one-to-four (1:4) staff-to-guest ratio.
Our Dances
We offer monthly dances for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities who are 18 years of age and
older, and bi-monthly dances for teens with intellectual and developmental disabilities in the 13 to 21-year-old age range.
These dances are a fun way to help individuals develop social skills and healthy friendships with their peers. We provide
supervision for the dances if parents and guardians choose not to stay. All Agency staff, parents and guardians are
required to complete a Hold Harmless Form and Guest Information Sheet. This is required to participate at our dances
and for the safety of our guests. We will not be dispensing medications at these dances. Our staff provides supervision
and assistance only. All guests will enjoy snacks and soft drinks, get a chance to win door prizes and enjoy music from
our professional DJ. We have a Chinese Auction raffle and we have friendly volunteers to get everyone up and dancing!
All of our staff and volunteers are highly trained with all current clearances.
Red Hat Ladies Club
The Red Hat Ladies is a chapter of the Red Hat Society. This club is a great way for women to make new friends and join
in activities with other ladies who all have the same interests. We are a club just for WOMEN who are 18 years of age
and older that get together as a group and do activities. The most important part of this club is to have fun and make
friends.
Blue Cap Guys Club
The Blue Cap Guys Club is just for MEN! This club gets together as a group and does activities. You must be a male 18
and older to become a member. (Female staff/guardians can attend events.) You do not have to attend all of the
events to belong to this club. You can choose which activities interest you most. This club is a great way for individuals
to develop social skills and healthy friendships with their peers.
Volunteer Opportunities
Exceptional Adventures is a subsidiary of Partners For Quality, Inc. We take great pride in the events & trips that we
sponsor. The individuals we serve truly enjoy Exceptional Adventures’ activities and would not have the opportunity
without the involvement of volunteers.
Exceptional Adventures is always looking for compassionate and caring people to volunteer for our upcoming trips,
events and dances. Volunteers travel and attend events at no cost. All meals, lodging, transportation and entertainment
are covered by Exceptional Adventures!
We offer volunteer opportunities for those looking for volunteer hours, college students preparing for human service fields
or if you work with individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
As a volunteer, one of your responsibilities is to help the guests participate in activities by joining in with them as a friend.
The most important thing is that our guests have a fun-filled and unforgettable time! You must be 18 years of age or
older to volunteer. Trainings are provided at no cost for all new volunteers.
All volunteers must fill out a Volunteer Application, a Pennsylvania Criminal History Record Check Application and
attend a New Volunteer Training before they can start attending trips, events and dances.
Please visit our website at www.exceptionaladventures.com or call our office at 412-446-0713, Extension 710 to get a
Volunteer Application.

UP.
GUESTS WHO ARE NOT PICKED UP WITHIN 30 MINUTES OF OUR SCHEDULED RETURN WILL BE BILLED A CHARGE OF
$35.00 PER HOUR. LOCAL GUESTS WHO MUST BE DRIVEN HOME WILL BE BILLED $50.00, PLUS THE HOURLY

ASSESSED BY THE BUS COMPANY.
NEW VOLUNTEERS/FAMILY MEMBERS WELCOME Exceptional Adventures is always recruiting new volunteers for the program. Persons working in community homes for individuals with
disabilities, professionals, college students preparing for human service fields and family members are welcome to call for information about
volunteering. Volunteers travel at no cost.
Should a family member wish to accompany a guest, they are welcome to do so if space is available on the tour. Please contact our office for
price information on the tour that you select. The same deposit and cancellation restrictions apply to the family member.
(Some tours are not open for first-time volunteers.)
AGENCY STAFF ACCOMPANYING GUESTS
Agencies are welcome to send their own staff with guests they register. Arrangements must be confirmed at the time of registration. It is the
responsibility of the agency to arrange their own staff to attend. We cannot take any guests that are signed up to attend with their staff that is
a 'no show' the day of the trip. No refunds will be given. Staff accompanying guests one-on-one have an increased cost. The cost is the
same amount as the guest fee.
Staff accompanying four of their individuals have no additional charge. Staff who wish to accompany one of their individuals and three of
Exceptional Adventures' other guests need to contact Exceptional Adventures and discuss these arrangements. All arrangements must be
confirmed at the time of registration.
TOUR COSTS
All tours are all-inclusive. Guests only need to bring money for souvenirs and snacks. Exceptional Adventures may need to increase fees
and/or change tour features as a result of circumstances beyond its control.
