When the contempt petition filed by Juhie Mohan came up for hearing Advocate Sheikh Shakeel Ahmed appearing for the petitioner submitted that on July 26, 2017 the High Court had quashed Agenda Item No.12 dated November 18, 2014 and the decision of Dean Research Studies dated November 8, 2016 whereby the claim of the peti- tioner for change of her status from whole time PhD Scholar to part time PhD Scholar was rejected. He argued that despite allow- ing of the writ petition, the Dean Research Studies University of Jammu vide order No.RA/17/2642-44 dated August 28, 2017 rejected the claim of the petitioner on the ground that the case does not fall in any of the categories as envisaged under Statute 8(a)(iv) and also on the ground that the case of the peti- tioner Juhie Mohan is distin- guishable to other two scholars namely Asha Rani and Usha Sharma. "Dean Research Studies has overreached the directions of the court and despite clear cut find- ings has rejected the claim of the petitioner for change of her status from whole time PhD scholar to part time PhD scholar on the same grounds when Jammu University had earlier vide order No.RA/16/4678-82 dated November 8, 2016 rejected the claim of the petitioner", the counsel for the petitioner said.
