The HuddersfieldDaily Examiner must receive alltokens by Friday, March 4, at5pm. 13. No responsibility will beaccepted for any tokens that arelost, damaged or delayed in thepost. Proof of posting is not proof

of delivery. 14. Any tokens thatare incomplete, torn, mutilated,illegible or damaged in any waywill be declared void. 15.Schools must register for thepromotion separately. 16.Schools will not be able todonate tokens to other schoolsor combine tokens with them. 17.The promoter is Trinity MirrorHuddersfield and Barclaysdonate the prizes as stated. 18.All cash prizes will be paid to the

respective winners as cheques.19. It is the participating school’sresponsibility to verify thenumber of pupils in the school onthe day they register for thepromotion. 20. Prizes are nontransferable and non-refundable.21. Winners must agree topublicity reasonably requestedby Trinity Mirror Huddersfield. 22.No purchase necessary. 23. TheEditor’s decision is final in allmatters and no correspondence

will be entered into. 24.Acceptance of rules is acondition of entry. 25. Allinstructions form part of therules. THE Examiner’s Schools –Collect for Cash competitionhas started in the Examinerand we are asking you tocollect special tokens to helpyour local school win ashare of £11,000.

Readers need to collect as manytokens as possible from theHuddersfield Daily Examiner andthrough our community website,myExaminer.

The first token appeared in Monday’sExaminer and online atwww.examiner.co.uk/schools.

Tokens will appear in the Examinerevery day until Saturday, February 19.

Simply cut out the tokens and dropthem into your local school or theExaminer office – but make sure you tellus which school you are collecting for.

You can also collect virtual tokensonline every day by visiting our websitewww.examiner.co.uk/myexaminer. First,register on the website and activate theemail we send you.You will then be ableto search for yourlocal school in ourgallery and click onthe school’s logo tocollect a token forthem.

Only schools thathave registered for thepromotion will appearin the gallery. Formore informationabout how you cancollect tokens for yourchosen school, pleasevisitwww.examiner.co.uk/schools.

Examiner senior marketing executiveNatasha Maskery said: “With thesupport of Barclays, this year’s schoolscompetition will see the Examiner giveaway more money than ever before.

“With a share of £11,000 up for grabs,schools have been registering to takepart in the promotion but now theyneed your help.”

So whether you have school-agedchildren, grandchildren, neighbours orfriends, the Examiner’s Schools Collectfor Cash promotion can really helpthem. This is how the cash is brokendown and it means several schools willend up winners.

Schools with the highest number oftokens per pupil will win £2,000 (first),£1,000 (second) and £500 (third).

Schools that collect most tokens willwin £2,000 (first), £1,000 (second) and£500 (third).

Barclays will judge schools with thebest suggestions of how they can

promote financial education to pupils.Again there are three prizes – £2,000(first), £1,000 (second) and £500 (third).

All schools that have collected at least100 tokens and have not won a mainprize will be entered into a draw to win£500.

Collect as many tokens as you canfrom the Examiner and encouragefriends and family to collect tokensonline to help your chosen school.

Last year, Wilberlee Junior and InfantSchool in Slaithwaite won £2,500 – andused it towards paying for newplayground equipment.

Headteacher Richard Bottom said:“It’s timber-framed with large swingsand a rope climb.

“The pupils on the School Councilresearched and chose it and the childrenuse it every day be it wet, dry or iceoutside.

“We were looking for somethingadventurous and substantial and it hasgone down great with the kids.’’

Barclays community investmentmanager Marie Morrissaid: “We put ourenergy, resources andexpertise intopartnerships with arange of charities witha particular focus onthe 16-25 age group.

“The programmeincludes acomprehensive rangeof materials that wemake available toschools.

“Barclays staff fromacross the UKvolunteer their time to

help us deliver the programme in arange of settings from classrooms tocommunity centres.

“Together, we aim to help peoplebuild their financial knowledge, skillsand confidence.

“By 2012 we will be supporting onemillion people with budgeting,spending, saving and using credit.’’

Once you have collected as manytokens as you can you will need tosubmit them to the school or to theExaminer office on Queen Street South,Huddersfield, HD1 3DU.

All tokens must be received by theExaminer before 5pm on Friday, March4.
