■■ Once the program opens, choose the launch button to start the exam. — Some courses have more than one exam, typically a midterm and a final.
You will need to take and pass the first exam in order to gain access to the second exam.
■■ While you take the exam, you may check questions for review. However, you will not be able to review them until all questions have been answered.
■■ Once the exam is submitted, your results appear, and if you pass, you will not be able to access the exam again except to review your results.
— If you do not score 70% or higher, you may retake the exam until you achieve a passing score.
— You must pass all course exams to receive the required course completion certificate.
— For most exams, the exam questions are randomly generated from a question bank, so you may see some new questions each time you test.
— If you fail an exam more than three times, please discuss this with a classroom instructor, attend an interactive study group, or send an email to [email protected] and ask to have an instructor contact you.

Step 2 Accept your affidavit. ■■ Once you have passed the exam, the icon for the affidavit will then activate.
— You are required to accept the affidavit that states you have completed each assigned module of the course.
— You will need to complete this step before your course is finalized. Once you click on the icon and accept it, you may move to the next step.
Step 3 View and print your course completion certificate. ■■ The course completion certificate can be viewed and printed once all of the
required components show checkmarks (see Figure 1.2: Dashboard). — If the checkmark does not appear, or if any of the icons are gray, you
have not completed the course. — Once the certificate icon is no longer grayed out, click it to view and
print your completion certificate. — You will need to print each of the six required course certificates to sub-
mit with your license application.
FIGURE 1.2: Dashboard
REQUIREMENTS TO RECEIVE CREDIT FOR COMPLETING EACH COURSE
In order to successfully complete each course, you will need to read the entire textbook, take the online quiz and final exam, and pass both with a score of 70% or higher.
The quiz precedes the final exam. While taking the quiz or final exam, if the browser remains inactive for too long, it will automatically end your session and all work up to that point will be lost.
The quiz may be reviewed upon completion, but the final exam may not. We are prohibited from allowing you to review the final exam because it would compro-mise its integrity.
In the event that you fail the final exam twice, you will need to contact Customer Support to reset the course. This will give you two additional attempts to pass the exam.
After passing the final exam for each course, you will be able to print your certifi-cate of completion for that course. You will need the certificate of completion for each course to submit to the Texas Real Estate Commission (TREC) when you apply for your license.

Flashcards
To help you remember real estate terminology, we recommend making flashcards. Once you can determine the correct response to each flashcard three times when facing both forwards and backwards, you should remove it from the deck. Con-tinue this exercise until all the cards are memorized and removed from the deck. The key is to always focus on what you don’t know.

HOW TO SIGN UP FOR THE PEARSON VUE STATE LICENSE EXAM
When Should I Complete Exam Prep?
Within approximately two weeks after applying for your license, you should attend or take the online exam prep course. You should have applied for an Inactive Sales Agent License before attending an exam. While you are waiting for TREC to approve your application, you should spend time reviewing your coursework and completing the true/false questions in your exam prep books. Once you have com-pleted the exam prep, plan on taking the exam no later than two weeks after com-pleting the course. Our studies show a significant chance of not passing the exam three or more weeks after completing exam prep. The examination must be passed within one year from the date the application is filed with the commission office.
When Can I Schedule My Exam?
Once your application is approved, TREC will send you an eligibility letter includ-ing an ID number. You will need to provide that ID number to the Pearson VUE Exams to register for the exam. Do not attempt to register for the exam without first receiving notification from TREC. You will then be able to contact Pearson VUE and schedule an exam date. Pearson VUE offers the exam several times a week in a number of locations in the state, so you should not have any trouble finding a date that fits your schedule, though some months are busier than others.
Registration and Exam Fees
The fee to take the exam is $54, which must be paid when you reserve your exam date. Pearson VUE charges $54 for all subsequent exam sessions, so we urge you to take advantage of all our resources available to you. We are committed to helping you pass the first time!

For the Broker Exam, the national portion has 85 multiple-choice questions and the state portion has 40 multiple-choice questions. You will have 150 minutes to complete the national portion and 90 minutes to complete the state portion.
The exam is administered on a standard-IBM style PC, and it eliminates the use of paper-and-pencil answer sheets.
Is It Possible to Reschedule the Exam?
To change or cancel your exam reservation, you must call Pearson VUE at least 48 hours before your scheduled exam. Candidates who change or cancel their reser-vations without proper notice will forfeit their examination fee.
What Score Is Needed to Pass the Exam?
Sales agents must score a 70% or higher on each portion of the exam to pass. Brokers must score 75% or higher on both portions of the exam to pass. If you pass one portion and are unsuccessful on the other, you must schedule another test date and pass the remaining portion but you do not need to retake the portion you already passed.
What Should I Bring to the Exam? 1. Candidates must present two forms of current signature identification. The
name on the identification must exactly match the name on the registration. The primary identification must be government-issued photo-bearing iden-tification with a signature, and the secondary identification must contain a valid signature. Identification must be in English.
2. Calculators are not required; however, they are recommended. Acceptable calculators include hand-held, battery, or solar-powered financial calcula-tors used in real estate, finance, accounting, and business.
