Network Map Analysis Summary prepared by Health Nexus
Outline
• 2007 Integration Survey – Children’s Services Stakeholders (Best Start Network)
• Social Network Mapping– What is it?– How does it work?
• Social Network Mapping Analysis – prepared by Health Nexus
Social Network Mapping – What is it?
• Network mapping and analysis is a process for visualizing and interpreting connections within a group so that the group itself, and therefore its work and effectiveness, may be strengthened.
• Network analysis can also help a group explore options for adapting to a changing environment. Connections, strengths, and weaknesses are made visible, helping answer many key questions in the collaboration community-building process
Answer Key Questions:
• Are the right connections in place? • Are any key connections missing?• Who are the people playing leadership roles in
the community?• Who are not, but could be?
(Source: Valdis Krebs and June Holley, “Building Smart Communities through Network Weaving,” 2002)
Network Mapping in Leeds and Grenville
• Partnered with Health Nexus to create a baseline ‘snapshot’ of the current levels of connection within Every Kid in our Communities.– Specifically
• On-line Survey completed June – July 2014• Data supplied to HN• HN used innovative technology and mapping
software to create network maps
Network Mapping – How Does it Work?
• Network analysis software is used to produce maps and numeric tables.
• Maps are analyzed – Analysis provided by HN• Members can be surveyed again (after time) and
re-mapped to see differences. • Over time, network analysis can help a group to
demonstrate its growth, development and functional effectiveness.
