EVENTS 2012

We walk, we run, we climb, we trek, we swim, we jump, we cycle...

What will you do...?

Page 2: Events Newsletter 2012

Welcome to Events 2012Right now, the lives of over three million people in the UK are threatened by chronic kidney disease, with kidney failure already a silent epidemic.

Kidney Research UK is Britain’s leading charity dedicated to funding medical research into the treatment and prevention of kidney disease and kidney related problems. Last year we celebrated our 50th Anniversary and with the help of our supporters, we intend to build on the success of the past 50 years – continuing to do all we can to help save the lives of those affected by kidney disease.

Supporting research aimed at finding better treatments, and ultimately a cure, for kidney disease, Kidney Research UK has over £10.1 million invested in research at any one time. We award grants to doctors, nurses and researchers across the UK as well as to kidney patients to help with the unexpected costs of their condition. We also campaign for better patient access to renal services.

If Kidney Research UK can continue to fund life- saving research into kidney disease, in the hope of finding a cure, then the 7,000* people waiting for a kidney transplant, which is 90% of the UK organ transplant list, may cease to be a statistic.

Take part in one of our great events!Kidney Research UK is funded almost entirely by voluntary donations and every contribution makes an impact on our work.

The following pages provide you with details of some of the events you can take part in to help us raise funds to help save lives and give millions of people the chance of a brighter future.

Places are limited on many of these events, so we recommend you register early to avoid disappointment and set yourself a training goal.

Contact us today for more information on any of the events shown in this brochure, or for details of new events we are adding to our calendar!
