THE HEMINGWAY’S STORY
Two mates drifted into Port after a long, sundrenched stint on the reef. Parched andweary, but still buzzing from an unforgettable time in paradise, all they needed to complete this perfect day was to reminisce over a top-notch local brew or two.
And this is where the story really begins…..
Like a marlin striking a skirted lure, it suddenly hit them: their piece of paradise waswithout a beer they could proudly call their own, or a place to drink it for that matter.
Being true journeymen they decided right then and there to embark on their nextgreat adventure: to open a brewery that reflected their love of the area. Perhaps itwas an overdose of Vitamin D speaking or simply a moment of clarity; either way,their grand idea to build Hemingway’s Brewery, Port Douglas was born.
Now in one of the world’s most unspoiled, untouched, and untapped destinations, their spirit of adventure and passion for beers with a story has been brought to life. Tales of fact and fiction inspired by the utopian surrounds are savored through beers crafted from ingredients as pure as the finest Australian hops, locally sourced base malts, and of course, the crystal waters of Mossman Gorge.
With Hemingway’s Brewery, locals now have a genuine local, visitors can feel like the locals themselves, and both are always welcome to pull up a stool to finish a journey with an ale and a tale before they too embark on their next great adventure.

BUYOUT@HEMINGWAY’SA buyout is the exclusive use of the entire Brewery. There is no other offsite location in Port Douglas that compares to Hemingways. The views, the style, the location, the food and most of all the locally brewed craft beers! You can party on here until 12 midnight and are only a short coach transfer from your Port Douglasaccommodation.

HEMINGWAY’S BREWERY TERMS AND CONDITIONS
The Client’s details and details of the function appear on Function Details form, which is to be read together with these terms and conditions.
A 10% Deposit, signed terms and conditions, and function details form must be returned to Hemingway’s Brewery within 14 days of receipt by the Client. Once the deposit, function details form and signed terms and conditions form has been received, Hemingway’s Brewery will issue a confirmation to the Client. Until the confirmation has been issued, Hemingway’s Brewery reserves the right to continue offering the space to other interested parties.
Final numbers must be confirmed 14 days prior to the event. Any reduction after this date will be charged at the previously guaranteed numbers. If the Client does not provide final numbers, Hemingway’s Brewery will refer to the ‘total guests’ listed on the function details form. A final invoice will be issued at this time and paid in full prior to the event. If you arrange for ‘Beverages on Consumption’ then the bar tab must be paid in full at the conclusion of the event.
Minimum spend limits apply to most bookings. All food and beverage purchases made by the Client and their guests contribute to the minimum spend. All events to finish no later than midnight. Any shortfall in achieving the minimum spend will be charged as a room hire to the client.
Cancellation:If the Client wishes to cancel the event, any cancellation must be in writing and the following fees apply:a. More than 28 days prior to the event date - all payments will be refundedb. 14-27 days prior to the event date - 100% of the deposit will be retained by Hemingway’s Breweryc. 7-13 days prior to the event date - 50% of the total value of the event will be retained by Hemingway’s Breweryd. 0-6 days prior to the event date – 100% of the total value of the event will be retained by Hemingway’s Brewery
Menu details must be finalised at least 14 days prior to the date of the function. Menus may be selected from the range of food and beverage items made available by Hemingway’s Brewery. The prices for menus quoted by Hemingway’s Brewery are subject to change, and Hemingway’s Brewery will notify the Client of any such change. If Hemingway’s Brewery is unable to provide part or all of the selected menu, Hemingway’s Brewery reserves the right to adapt the selected menu in consultation with the Client.
The Client acknowledges that other than designated smoking areas, all areas in which a proposed event is to be conducted are to be smokefree, in accordance with Queensland Law.
On behalf of the client I agree that I have read and understood the terms and conditions outlined above with respect to the hiring of any and allfunction facilities at Hemingways Brewery FNQ.
