Question 1In what ways does your media

product use ,develop or challenge forms and convention

of real media products?

Page 2: Evaluation questions

Cover imageMuch of the issues of hammer and metal maniacs usually used mid shot for their main cover image to keep as much of the audience focus on the portrayed character as possible and so I followed the same method for this convention by using a medium shot for my front cover.

MastheadMy title of the cover page is aligned at the top centre of the page which somewhat resembles to the style of metal maniacs though they have a two letter title while mines is single. Hammer on the other hand has spread their masthead completely across the top.

Colour scheme The colour scheme of the Hammer magazine is red, black and white for the masthead and black and yellow for metal maniacs i settled for red and black for my own title. For the background of my magazine I have used a blue wall to make the black and white characters stand out unlike hammer and metal maniacs who have used the same colour for the background as their main image

Cover storyBoth the hammer and metal maniacs have their cover story at the centre while I have placed it on the left and no other text is placed with it so it is prominent

BarcodeBoth have their barcodes on left mine is on the right , Hammer has a vertical barcode while mine and metal maniacs is a horizontal barcode

Image(s) The image of my page is placed at the right bottom of the page , this depicts the layout of hammer who place the images on the right vertically down . Metal maniac on the other hand has the opposite approach they have their images at the left while the text on the right

TextI aligned the text vertically down the left side and some part of it above the image, the title stating content is at the top in centreHammer also has main text placed in the same way and same for the titleMetal maniac is a little different placing the text vertically on the left and horizontal on the top .

Color scheme I have used a smoke pattern for the background according to the theme of black metal hammer has not used a background they have their image and text on a plain white surface. Metal maniac has also used black and white for its back drop

QuoteMy quote is placed at the centre, where the two pages of the double fold are separated . The other two have not used a quote

ImageI have positioned my image on the left page with some of the text overlapping the page similar to the metal maniac method but unlike hammer who has used separate pages for its text and image. I added a border to the page

which none of the two have done

Color scheme I chose to stick with plain black and white colour pattern for my page to go with the theme while hammer and metal maniac seemed to be having a bit more vibrant approach

TextMy text over laps the second page with the image like the metal maniac hammer has all its text on the first page on the left

music among the energetic population rather than

the more sober ones which majorly are from the

older age group

GenderMy magazine is mainly males oriented as the genre of the music used (Heavy metal) is mostly famous in the male gender due to its dark attributes for example violence, chaos ,anger and abusive language

Income groupThe price is kept reasonably low this shows that it is targeted for the middle and upper middle class of the society

This genre consist of a strong language so my magazine represents the open minded society who enthusiastically approve to such a style
