Evaluation question 7 Looking back at your preliminary task (the
school magazine task), what do you feel you have learnt in the progression from it
to full product?
Overall I am really happy with my final magazine and feel like I have improved from my preliminary activity magazine massively. I have learnt what how to adapt the aesthetics of
my magazine to please and attract my target audience. I feel like my final magazine has improved significantly in
comparison to the prelim due to my present knowledge with adobe photoshop from practising and creating my
preliminary. I feel confident now photo manipulating and using the software to create media. I also think that my final
magazine has improved so much because of all the time spent researching and planning which majorly contributed to the finished magazine and how well it turned out. I am really happy with how my magazine has turned out compared to the prelim activity, a lot more time went into this, I feel it
looks a lot more professional and realistic.
Another reason that my magazine has improved is because of the time spent on it, for the preliminary task we only had a few
days to complete it with no research or planning whereas for the actual magazine
there was so much time put into it also prior to creating it because of research and
planning then the time I had to actually create the magazine.
I feel my photography has improved which contributed to how well my magazine turned out compared to my prelim,
I learnt how to use the lighting better when taking photos and position my model to get the best results for the shots possible. I did take so many more photos for my real magazine compared to the prelim where I only had 5 shots. I redid my photo shoot a couple of
times to get the exact pictures I wanted and I am glad I did it as both my models look exactly how I wanted them too in my final magazine. I feel now my images are much more appropriate for my audience and work
well with the layout and colour scheme.
