Evaluation Question 5 - Section 2

Page 2: Evaluation question 5 section 2

To keep track that my product was sticking to the genre and target audience I created a survey which asked these questions.

What genre do you think this is this film? (why do you think this?)

What is your attention drawn too whilst watching?

Would you watch the full film? why?

Is the soundtrack effective? If so why? If not, why not?

Do you think this meets the target audience of 15-25 year olds?

Why, or why not does it not meet the needs of an audience between the ages of 15-25?

Summary of my survey Overall everyone who did my survey picked up that it was a thriller film, they also picked up on the fact that it could also be linked to action and horror which have similar aspects.

Each person had a different opinion of what they found intriguing whilst watching. This ranged from the fast paced feeling/frequent change of shots to the clothing and the overall story.

Three out of the four people said that they would watch the full film as they found the opening scene interesting. The one person who didn't want to watch the film stated that it wasn't there type of film. This person is most probably female as my target audience is mainly males.

Everyone who filled out the survey said that the soundtrack was effective. However one person stated that there was an annoying wind sound and the other said that in one point it was a bit harsh. I will remove the wind sound, but i was deliberately going for harsh tones to keep the viewer on edge, if there is more criticism on this i will change it.

All four of the people who filled out the servey said that it is appropriate to my target audience meaning my product is successful.

Feedback

Throughout the creative process of creating my product I have been taking feedback and doing research. After my rough cut was marked i received feedback which stated that i needed to add more shots to increase the length, add more titles and add more narrative. After receiving these i made amendments, this made a large difference to my film as it actually made sense, the extra shots meant i could use more interesting techniques like for example the 3 different angles for when the runner jumps over the wall, and the extra titles made it look more like a finished product.

Over all the feedback and information which I have collected and analysed has helped me create a much better finished product than i could have created without it.
