• The typical, expected conventions of an action movie is the male character is usually the character who experiences the most action and battles, and the female character watches from a distance. For example, in The Avengers Assemble, all the Marvel characters are males, then the Black Widow, keeps an eye on everything from the office, therefore she doesn’t experience the action, fights and gun battles in full force.

• On the other hand, I encouraged my group to included a female as the main character, as this would be challenging the typical conventions, as well as developing it.

• This also helps represent what era this movie is filmed in. By not conforming to the ideologies of male dominance as represented by similar movies that I have come across of a similar storyline/genre, for example, Snatch, 21 Jump Street and The Avengers Assemble, this helps us to challenge the typical conventions expected in an action movie.

• Not only does this challenge and develop the conventions of a real media product, it also helps us attract a range of female audience members.
