1. In what ways does your media product use, develop or

challenge forms and conventions of real media

products?

The same font used throughout the magazine.

To show continuity throughout the magazine I have chosen to use the same fonts throughout the magazine for consistency and to create a style on the page. the text I have chosen to use the fonts ‘Calibri’ and ‘Myraid Pro’ for the main bodies of text and the titles on the pages with the use of some other texts for things like numbers

and headings for differentiation between the articles and text and the titles and headings.

Using a colour scheme of only 3 colours

To show continuity throughout the magazine I have chosen to use a 3 colour scheme of green, white, and black to give the feel that they are all a part of the

same issue as they have the same theme on the pages. This colour scheme is a part of the house style of the product and is continuous throughout the magazine. I

chose the colours because I believed that they conveyed the genre and are a visually pleasing combination of colours. Using white for the text also allowed for it to be high contrast enough for it to be easy to read but not so much that it becomes

harsh on the eyes.

Making sure page numbers match contents features.

For consistency and professionalism I have sure that the page numbers for the featured article and other articles match up to the ones specified on the

contents page. I have also made sure that none of the page numbers overlap and that they are in numerical order so they don’t cause any confusion.

 Same artist on your front cover, contents and DPS

I have chosen to keep the same artist throughout the magazine as they are the featured artist. I have also used the artist names that are on the cover of the magazine in the contents page as well to show continuity there too. The article descriptions expand on what has previously been said about the artists on the cover and gives more of an idea of what the article will be about.

Matching existing conventions

The layout of my magazine matches conventions of existing music magazines as the cover, contents page, and double page spread are inspired by existing, popular magazines like Mixmag. I have used a similar layout and style for the

pages as mixmag as I personally like the style and my magazine was aimed at a similar genre of music as mixmag. I have based the style and layout of the featured articles off of mixmag by using a similar box design behind the text. I

have also styled the colours of the featured articles similarly by using one colour for the artist name and another colour for the text.
