In what ways does your media product use, develop or challenge forms and conventions of real media texts Conventions Used: My placement of the tagline, Title and billing block/date is very conventional after looking at other real media texts such as The Tall Man and Blair Witch Project, I realised that I had to repeat the same kind of style on my project. Using a long medium shot of the character of Marcus to not just show the character but also to show the surrounding area to make sure the viewer knows where the film is set, this can be seen in the Woman in black poster to the right. Conventions Developed: Most media product would have their USP as a Actor/ress because they’re the star or because they’re well known and can bring in more interest for the product but I used a taglines which doesn’t challenge the norm because not every media project has a Actor’s name as their USP for example Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix, with the “The Rebellion Begins”. Conventions Challenged: The colour scheme for the date as normally it would be just one colour whereas I have made it two this is to highlight the fact that there is a link between the date and the history behind our trailer.
