Digital Technologies I Used

PhotoshopI used Photoshop for all my used photographs for editing them by adding brightness, contrast
etc. I also used the cutting out tool a lot to cut around the image I wanted, and moved it to fit on another page or cover. Photoshop helps my magazine look professional and creates products in a unique way.
I created this on Photoshop to look like Polaroid pictures by simply making two squares: one for the cream frame, and the other for the space for the photograph. When they are all put together, I believe they look real and professionally done.
QuarkI used Quark mainly for my contents and double page spread. This software allowed me to add photos and text to a specific
place on my page. It also made the columns for my cover lines in order, allowing them to look structured and neat.
This is one of the columns I created for my contents page. I believe it looks ordered and easy to navigate a particular cover article. The red lines I have added around the column categorize the articles, allowing it to look more colourful and colourful.
I inserted these images at the bottom of my double page spread which adds colour and allows the page to look more visually interesting. I simply drew a box to place my image into it so I would know where exactly it would go. The text of this page also looks organised and professional as I added columns here too.
CameraI used an SLR camera to take photos for all my pages. I needed a direct mode of
address for my front cover image, and some professional images for my other pages so they look professional and keep with the genre of the magazine.
This is the image I used for my front cover as she looks into the camera and gives a friendly perceptive to the reader. The camera was easy to use as it focused on the most specific/main part of the shot and allowed me to zoom in and out smoothly.
I used this image for my contents page as it differs from the front cover therefore keeps the reader interested. I had to position the camera on the perfect angle so the two girls and instruments are still shown, however hide the other parts of the room. This is because they didn’t match the genre of the magazine.
LightingI used lighting for my images so they look professional. The
lighting overall was quite simple to understand and control as I didn’t need to move them as they were conveniently facing the backdrop. However, the spotlight had to be adjusted to focus on the person in the photograph.
The orange tinted lighting that is shining on the back drop is what I created for this image. This allows the photograph to look more vintage like therefore keeps in with the context of the specific cover article.
InternetThe internet was used many times for various
parts of creating my magazine. I used it to get to access useful websites such as my blog, DaFont, and Prezi which were all easy to access.
Dafont
This website had many different types of font therefore was likely that I would use one of these to create my mast head in a unique way.
This font (28 Days Later) was used to create part of my mast head. I simply clicked the font I wanted and wrote my words (It Up) and it came up with this font.I then used font installer to install this font only on this specific computer.
PreziThis website allowed me to create a animated, high quality presentation for one of my
evaluation questions. Overall, it was easy to control and the final product looked very professional.
This was the layout I chose for my Prezi presentation. the circles are the points of the presentation, and the title stands out in orange and pink so the reader is aware what the context is.

My blog is the website where the whole process of my Media coursework is uploaded. The orderly layout allows it to be easily navigated and the website itself is simple to access.
