CODES AND CONVENTIONS BASED UPON GOODWIN'S THEORY

• Researching recent products at the start of the project made me realise the typical forms and conventions of real media products of today. However as a group we did look through music video in YouTube. We thought it is a good idea too look into many videos as possible so we know how we can use these conventions in our own music video.

• From my research of Andres Goodwin's I found out that artist video were either narrative or performance based which were a similar genre to our artist and you should look at its characteristic and the relationship between the visuals and the lyric to figure out the genre of a music video

In Neyos music video he walks behind the Woman ,he portrayed a love relationship between him and a woman. I thought this worked well and was effective in displaying emotion ,so I used this convection in my video.

In Mario's music video they having a argue and the girl puts her hands on artist chest .I used this idea for my music video .In my video my female artist look annoyed and stressed.

CD COVER

I incorporated a barcode into my digipackto portray what the genuine product would look like. This follows institution conventions, as these features are used within every cd that is printed, which allows the cd to be sold and purchased in retail stored such as HMV

Use of one background colour which I also see in Jame Scott cover similar genre to our album. Scott is seen to be looking away from the camera and so is our artist which reinforces the sad emotion. Make the artist name and album name clear by having two different colours which are almost a theme through.

Artist and album name is clear two different font and colours are used. There also the biggest font size as that’s what's most important. A colour scheme is clearly noticeable. Both covers state when the album is out. Although both adverts say the cd is available/out now unlike the real media product, we have developed this more by adding the recognisable logos of stores where the cd can be bought.
