Question OneQ.1) In what ways does your media product use,

develop or challenge forms and conventions of real media products? Answer

OneI think our media product uses a lot of the forms and conventions of the film “se7en”, but that is what we wanted. It creates the same mystery as Seven as you

ever see the face of this man so you as the audience do no have a clue who this man is throughout the opening

sequence. I also think the music used in ours and sevens are alike because they both create tension straight away which is exactly what me and my group wanted to do.

Question TwoHow does your media product

represent particular social groups?

Answer TwoI think it represents a the particular social that we

stated in our survey because, they are interested in mystery and we create a lot of that in our opening, also we use weapons, which 16-19 year doesn't like a bit of

weapons and crime? You may normally think people of this age enjoy films

like “Adulthood”, “Shifty” and “Shank” and i think because of some of the aspects of which I've stated

above they might just enjoy this film even more.

What kind of media institution might distribute your media product and

why?

Question Three

I think it would be something like the a small British company like film 4, this is because we wouldn't get the backing from a big American

company as we are unknown directors. Also we would not have any big named actors that will

draw a big budget to us.

Who would be the audience for your media product?

Question Four

Answer Four

Our audience would main be males between the ages of 16-19. I got this from a survey I produced on

http://www.freeonlinesurvey.com/. We split the survey so we have the same amount of males and females. Most of

the females didn’t know what a thriller was, that indicated to me that maybe females so not enjoy thrillers as much as males do. I advertised this survey online and 16-19 was the most popular age, I think this is because I

mentioned it was a thriller survey, so only people interested in thrillers took the survey. That is how I came

to my conclusion that my target audience was males between the ages of 16-19. you can see the results in

more detail earlier in my blog.

How do you attract/address your audience?

Question Five

Answer Five

We attract the audience by keeping them guessing throughout our whole opening, no-one likes to not know what is going on but that is what we created we created mystery which is what an opening is suppose to do. We also didn't show the persons face throughout the opening like seven I will add some images to show this. Many people have asked me what our opening is about after watching I do not think this is a bad thing. This is because we have done what a good opening should do which should not give away the whole story line at the start because if we did no-one would want to watch on.

What have you learnt about technologies from the process of

constructing this product?

Question Six

Answer SixSome technology is complicated and can get very frustrating like the apple iMac for example, after using windows since I started school I found it hard to work the iMac purely because it is so different to windows. Also iMovie is a new programme for me, and we had to learn it as we went along even now there is loads of things that I don’t know about it, it was a learning process but it think me and my group done very well considering none of use have used an apple iMac before we started Media Studies.

Question Seven

Answer Seven

Looking back at your preliminary task, what do you feel you have learnt in the progression from

it to the product?

We have learnt a massive amount since our preliminary task, from the camera angles to the different types of shots we use. Now I know why we should use different shots and where we should use different

shots. Before I would have just took a camera out and filmed anything but now I think I have a greater understanding on how everything should look. Also mise-en-scene is a massive part in a

product if you have something in the frame which s not suppose to be there it could distract the audience from what you really what them to see. This may end up on them not understanding which

would be a waste of your time and there’s.
