Complete system - safety mat According to EN ISO 13849-2:2012, Table D.8 a fault of the sensor with resistor- termination (8,2 k Ohm} not making a connection can be excluded in pressure-sensitive safety mats according EN ISO 13856-1, if the sensor is in use under valid rated values.

In this case the sensor does not contribute to the calculation of the MTTFo-value of the complete safety mat system. Only the MTTFo-value of the relating control unit from the table above is relevant. In this case the Performance Level of the complete system can reach PL d at maximum.

It can be confirmed that the application example shows a correct connection and combination of the already approved NEX-SNC system and the corresponding Safety Mat UMA according to the requirements for applications up to Cat. 3, PL d ace. to EN ISO 13849-1.

The associated application example documentation and the NEX-SNC System user documentation shall be considered. The user needs to observe the specific requirements for the installation conditions and application notes defined in the manuals for the NEX-SNC system and the UMA Mat. Furthermore he has to show that the reliability calculation fulfils the stated Performance Level {PL). Even if the configuration software and the safety design of the modules perform every possible check, the user is obliged to verify the correct execution of every safety function within an application before commissioning of a machine.

The issue of this certificate is based upon an examination, whose results are documented in Report No. 968/FSA 1117.00/17 dated 2017-04-10. This certificate is valid only for products which are identical with the product tested. It becomes invalid at any change of the codes and standards forming the basis of testing for the intended application.
