“There is a critical shortage of nurses, especially in the rural areas, so being released to attend conferences [for CPD] is difficult. Secondly, where the nurses are supposed to pay, some find it difficult to afford in the midst of competing tasks”

Purpose of the CPD Library• To develop a CPD Library that will provide readily-
available modules for nurses and midwives in the ECSA region to contribute to the sustainability of newly created national level CPD requirements
• Modules will: – Be peer-reviewed– Include a certificate of completion– Mobile accessible
• The CPD Library is working with nursing registrars in the region to gain support
Motivation for re-licensure but may not have access
Lower HTML-like settings; modules that address interests; easy to download
Nursing Registrars
One per country; already involved in ARC
High; especially countries where it is a requirement
High capacity, moderate motivation
Ask for support at ARC meetings and within ECSACON
Union and Association Presidents
Connected to one or two per country; have influence
Moderate Capacity is high; Motivation is low
Focus group will determine dissemination strategy
Implementing Partners
Could include NGO’s, CBO’s, CDC; WHO, etc
Already have content to disseminate
High Capacity and High Motivation
Engage at meetings, directly, word of mouth
