Greetings to my fellow WOTM co-workers. I am at this time writing my newsletter notes, as I wait for my flight home from Dallas. I was very sorry to have missed the 50's Dance and I hope a good time was had by all who attended.
Here we are again at the start of another busy holiday season. I'm sure most of you are like me, making your list and checking it twice! This time of the year reminds us of what is most important: family, friends and helping others. We members of the Lodge are fortunate to have other members here, who have become an extended family to us. The ladies of WOTM 1310 are truly an amazing group of women, who are always ready to give time and help in whatever way they can! The Lodge members are not only active in their communities and churches, but do a remarkable job raising funds and awareness for Moose Heart and Moose Haven. This is what we are all about!I would like to give a special thank you to Nora Williams and Cheryl Padilla for taking on the project of remodeling the ladies rest room. It is quite a big task. Also, thanks to Keith Brady, Bob Fleck, Bobby Garcia and especially our Administrator Dan Papp for all their assistance.
st rdLadies please mark those calendars for the 1 and 3 Wednesday of the month, to attend a WOTM evening. Let your ideas be heard, so we can become even better than we are.I hope you have already purchased your New Years Eve dinner tickets, for a truly memorable way to start the New Year of 2012 with your Lodge friends. I will close by wishing you all a very happy and healthy holiday season. Please remember to keep all co-workers undergoing any medical treatments in your thoughts and prayers!
Fraternally,Grace Wichert

Hi Everyone, Well it is getting cold and wet and is a great time to warm up at the lodge and enjoy a meal. You would be supporting the Lodge also. Don't forget Thanksgiving if you signed up for it! I am sure everyone has seen the construction going on at the Lodge. The WOTM have a new functional storage shed. They have volunteered to be the lodge decorators for holidays and this will allow them to
keep the decorations in good shape. They also can find them now. A great job by Phil, Bobbie, Howard, Bob, Ed and Myrna. You may have noticed the ladies room is being remodeled and upgraded. Cheryl Padilla has taken this as her personal project. She is donating her time and money for this project, Nora is her helper and with the help of several volunteers the restroom is nearing completion. This is not a WOTM project. Bobbie Garcia has volunteered to do the majority of the work. The last time I saw him he was mumbling to himself and asking for a stiff drink. What is that old saying about changing minds is a "women's prerogative." It's true there have been revised plans and many creative ideas flowing, but still Cheryl is the master planner and financier of the upgrades. If you want to help defer some of her expenses with a donation, I'm sure it would be appreciated. Cheryl is a fine example of a member getting involved and doing something to improve the Lodge. Let's all show our support and thanks. Improvement to the ladies room will be enjoyed by many of us, and our guests for years to come. The pantry project is almost done and working great. If you volunteer to cook or help in the kitchen it makes things run much smoother. To all the people who are on cooking teams, THANK YOU!!! You keep us in business. Thank all of you for your support, Dan
Remember there is to be no addition or changes to the lodge without permission from
the Board.

LEGION NEWSDorothy and I came back early from Oregon at the end of October to be with our Escondido MOOSE Family. We had a wonderful safe trip visiting family and friends but we are glad to be back. Weather?? Well, Guaranteed, the greatest weather is at the “Escondido Moose Lodge” and to be with our Moose Family and Friends.
thAt the Legion Meeting held on November 8 , we had several of our Legionnaires in attendance. Thank you for coming. I appreciate your enthusiasm, support, and your ideas to make our Lodge a family center for all to enjoy.
ndThe Legion Meeting is held on the 2 Tuesday of the month. Before, the meeting come and enjoy, the $5.00 dinner. What other place can you get a $5.00 meal, attend the 7:00PM meeting and socialize with our other “Brothers”. Again, I thank you for your support and ideas. Mark your calendar now to attend the next meeting
thon December 13 .
Last month, in the “LEGION NEWS”, I had a ghost writer. So far, no one has named the ghost writer. Are you reading your “MOOSE” Legion Letter?
Again, this month, as a Moose Member, if you are the FIRST person to join the Legion and guess the 'ghost writer', your Legion Membership will be paid for one year upon enrollment. You must have a current Moose membership, complete the application for the Legion and give to a current Legion member for submission and approval. So, who is the 'ghost writer' and have you submitted your application to become a “Legion Member”? Why not join today?!
TO ALL: HAVE A VERY MERRY CHRISTMAS AND A HAPPY NEW YEAR!
UNTIL WE MEET AGAIN
Fraternally,
Richard Allen, Chairman
Legionnaire of the YearRichard Allen
