We take the users manual for the obsolete productand use this as our design specification. Typically we can provide an evaluation unit within 4-5 months. In most cases, the evaluation unit works as soon as it is installed in the customer´s system. Any errors that arefound are normally corrected with firmware modifications. The customer is provided with a cable and software so that he can download the new firmware to the evaluation unit. Merlin Embedded modifies the firmware and emails it to the customer. If necessary, Merlin will go onsite to assist in integrating the evaluation unit.Onsite debugging normally takes no more than 1-2 days. The customer´s obsolescence problem literally becomes our problem. Once we start work, the customer is not required to expend any further time or resource until we have the evaluation unit ready to ship. The customer´s involvement is simply to spend a few days testing the evaluation unit. The new Merlin Embedded unit works with the existing software and cabling. No changes are required to the customer's system. There is no risk to the customer. Even in the cases where we have NRE charges, Merlin Embedded does not submit an invoice until the evaluation unit is signed off by the customer. Merlin Embedded will guarantee support for 15years. We will never obsolete a product without having a drop-in replacement available for our customers. • All products are form-fit-function and pin- compatible to your current product which allows for drop-in-replacement WITHOUT any changes to your hardware or software. • We do not copy the existing design. Our solutions are new unique designs that use available components. We do not use obsolete compoenents in the new design. • Each of our Engineering staff have full product management life-cycle responsibility, from inception to customer support. • Our products are designed from the Users Manual for the obsolete product.
