Welcome to the External Relations, Development and Alumni division, or ERDA as we are more commonly known at Monash University.

Thank you for your interest in ERDA and for wanting to join our team.

It is an exciting time to join ERDA. 2019 was a big year for us where we exceeded many of our targets and achieved unprecedented results. And we will only continue to excel and improve.

We have big plans for the future. With a new ERDA Strategy in development, an established Alumni Engagement Plan implemented, a $500 million philanthropic Campaign underway, and a CRM transition recently completed, ERDA is going from strength to strength. Your expertise will help us continually surpass our previous results and aim for higher goals.

As an ERDA colleague you will be working with numerous stakeholders across various teams and functions, giving you exposure to many opportunities for learning and growth. Our staff are a talented group of people who are always willing to help and share their wealth of knowledge.

– WE SUPPORT STUDENTS The funds we raise go towards supporting Achieving Potential Scholarships, which give academically bright students with disadvantaged backgrounds access to a world-class education. We also partner with our alumni to enhance the student experience through a number of immersive study programs including the Global Discovery Program and Global Immersion Guarantee.

– WE STRENGTHEN ALUMNI NETWORKS We are proud of our community of over 407,000 alumni in over 160 countries worldwide. Through a wide range of opportunities to stay connected with Monash, we facilitate high-level networking, and provide opportunities for career development though alumni events and mentoring opportunities. Our global presence is accentuated by our Global Leaders’ Network extending across eight priority locations internationally.

– WE CAMPAIGN FOR CHANGE The Change It. For Good. Campaign was launched in 2018 and is the largest public fundraising initiative in Monash history. It sets out to achieve three goals: raise $500 million from a community of 50,000 donors, and to double the number of bequests made to Monash. Our community of supporters are changing it with life-saving discoveries, accessible education, breakthrough research and vibrant communities. – WE BENEFIT THE COMMUNITY With proud roots in Melbourne, we enable diverse people and organisations to work with Monash to enrich our communities through a number of projects and initiatives such as the Monash Law Clinics which provides free access to justice for thousands of Victorians in need, and the Ian Potter Centre for Performing Arts which provides access to world-class arts facilities in Melbourne’s south-east.

– WE HAVE GLOBAL IMPACT The gifts we facilitate go directly toward supporting programs that are making a difference far beyond our base in Melbourne. From supporting the World Mosquito Program to eliminate Dengue fever, to Inhaled Oxytocin research aiming to prevent thousands of unnecessary deaths due to post-partum haemorrhage, the difference we are making extends to some of the most vulnerable communities worldwide.

In ERDA, you will be a part of a team that values workplace culture. Our colleagues are our greatest asset, and by working together in an inclusive and collaborative space, every individual plays a valuable role in shaping our future.

We listen to our colleagues and value the opinions and feedback that we achieve. We run yearly surveys and feedback forums to gauge how we are performing and ensure that we are consistently improving. But that is not all. We take our survey results very seriously and deliver initiatives that have make a tangible difference to the way we work.

Based on staff feedback and the results of our past surveys, we have implemented a number of divisional initiatives including:

– ERDA STAFF AWARDS 100% peer nominated and selected, our bi-monthly awards recognises and celebrates not only the success and achievements of our colleagues, but also the contribution they make to our workplace culture, no matter how big or small.

– ERDA SOCIAL COMMITTEE We believe that socialising with colleagues is just as important as working hard. Our ERDA social committee is a responsible for arranging a number of events that help build our culture as well as have some fun along the way. All ERDA staff are invited to participate in activities, and are welcome to put their hand up and become a committee member.

– TEAM BUILDING DAY This yearly event is a day for all ERDA colleagues to get out the office and build upon both personal and working relationship. Activities arranged are designed to encourage teamwork and provide a valuable experience to understand how you can better work with colleagues outside of your immediate team.

If you join us, you will be welcomed into a team that not only works hard to deliver performance goals, but also a team that values, respects and includes you in the ERDA workplace.
