• 20,000 to 40,000 years ago the first people moved into the Americas.• This nomadic people had crossed from Asia to the Americas using the Bering Land Bridge. • 40,000 years ago the Earth was a much colder place. During this Ice Age the Northern Hemisphere was covered by huge pieces of ice called glaciers. • As a result of so much water being trapped in ice, world sea levels dropped turning ocean floor to dry land. This is how the Bering Land Bridge was created.
