Kyogle Public School Newsletter Term 3 ends : Friday, 27 September 2019 Term 4 begins : Monday, 14 October 2019 Next P&C Meeting Wednesday, 21 August 2019 5.30pm Library DATE: Monday, 19 August 2019 TERM 3 WEEK 5 Principal: Drew Green Principal’s Message Hi Everyone, It has been very busy this Term and we are still going strong. This week is Book Week . A reminder we are having a dress up as YOUR Super Hero on Wednesday. This could be a sportsperson, actor, character, family or friend. Children will be looking at the winning books during their library and Literacy sessions. Next week we will be following up with the book theme by having amazing authors from the Bryon Writers Festival, Tristan Banks and Siboney Duff, visit the school to work with our Stage 3 students. There has been a lot of sickness around at the moment. If your child is sick, please make sure they do not come to school. According to health data you are recommended to keep them home for 24hrs after the last bout of vomiting or diarrhoea. Remember you must contact the school each day your child is away or at the end of an absence period. Please don’t assume that because you have contacted the office to justify one day to explain your child’s absence, that the office will know why your child is away the following day/s. Football and Digimon cards are a BIG craze at the moment and as we all know it is a phase that comes and goes regularly. As you can understand, it ’s difficult for teachers to know who owns which cards. For this reason we are asking that your child does not bring cards to school and if they want to trade they do this outside of school time. If they do bring cards to school they are doing so at their own risk. Have a great week! Leanne McLaughlin (Relieving Principal) All Grandparents and Grand friends are invited to our school on Wednesday, 11 September at 1pm to thank you for your role in our students lives. There will be classroom visits, afternoon tea and a performance from the choir. Remind grandparents to mark the date in their diary and watch out for invites that will be sent out shortly. Magpie breeding season is upon us again. This means that the nesting Magpies will be swooping. We have an active magpie near both KPS & KHS so to all parents and students, please BEWARE!!

Hi Everyone, It has been very busy this Term and we are still going strong.
This week is Book Week. A reminder we are having a dress up as YOUR Super Hero on Wednesday. This could be a sportsperson, actor, character, family or friend. Children will be looking at the winning books during their library and Literacy sessions.

PBL Focus - Being a Star in the playground. Be Respectful - Be Safe - Be a Learner
Aim: To make sure we are playing fair and following the rules.
What it looks like: *line up *take your outs *follow the rules *play fair *keep hands and feet to ourselves *follow teacher instructions *use school talk
2-3X have had a busy and exciting time so far this Term.
We have had great fun exploring number and shape patterns during mathematics, using concrete materials and technology.
STEM saw us design, build and test boats made from recycled materials with 3-4M.
The highlight so far has been the Stage 1 excursion to the
Macadamia Castle. We got up close and personal with a variety
of native Australian birds and animals, enjoyed a game of
putt putt golf and a train ride around the castle grounds. A
wonderful day out!
KIDS YOGA Monday 4-5 pm. Be sure to book in for some Yoga fun. Classes will include Yoga & Relaxation at Kyogle Showground Pavillion. No charge. Funded by Kyogle Healthy Towns Challenge. Bookings Essential.

PSSA Touch Football Congratulations to both Senior boys and girls Touch Teams on your efforts last Friday against Casino West. The girls had a hard game and tried their best, but were unfortunately beaten 3-1. Super effort girls! The boys had a very exciting and tight game finishing with a 4 all draw which then went into a drop off situation. They ended up winning 5-4 in a thriller. Amazing effort boys! Well done. A big thank you to the parents who assisted with transport and supported both teams enthusiastically.
We are requesting your feedback for our PBL Reward system. The eldest family member will bring one home this afternoon. Can you please fill it out and return to the school.
