Equipment Pooling:
Pooling of equipment is used to maintain "ready for
use" equipment while damaged or dirty equipment is
repaired and cleaned, by replacing it with an identical
piece of equipment from the pool.
An equipment pool is an identified area within a
hospital where medical equipment are stored or
loaned out to patient areas on a temporary basis.

Conclusion:
So far edical Equipment pooling has proven to be
beneficial for all kinds of hospitals but only if done with
professionalism and should be as close as possible to
the ODEL discussed earlier.

Some facts from MAX, Saket
With approximately 10 ipap machine for more than650 bedded hospital equipment pooling has proven tobe efficient and effective for our hospital.
With only 50 Ventilators earlier and with 2 more addedto the count recently , equipment pooling has proven tobe a boon for this hospital and only an efficient andhardworking iomedical Team can do this.

From the Ventilators data for the last 1 month, it is
clear that approximately 98% of the adult ventilators
were in continuous use and this can go upto 100%anytime.
Therefore for AX Hospital, due to the Equipment
Pooling we can predict the future need for ventilatorswhich has to be taken seriously.
