A producer can access key applications such as JDLinkTM which allows them to view real-time information about their farm operations, field locations and important performance data from their equipment. Other applications include AgLogic™, JDParts, John Deere Financial, Stellar Support and My Equipment.
Accessibility
MyJohnDeere portal is accessible via computer, smartphone or other handheld mobile device, giving producers the flexibility to view the information when and where they want it.
John Deere Wireless Data transfer
John Deere introduces Wireless Data Transfer which enables the wireless transmission of data between the Green-Star™ 3 2630 display, MyJohnDeere.com, and the producer’s farm management information system. This efficient system eliminates the need for manual transfer of data and will be available as a subscription upgrade to JDLink™ Ultimate with Remote Display Access allowing producers to transfer data remotely rather than thumb drives or data cards.
This will allow customers more accessibility to information and timely distribution to third party providers. This will also allow prescriptions to be sent to 2630 displays. There will be a Limited Production Build this fall and look for full release January 1, 2014.

Value Added Services
Customer needs are changing and RDO Equipment Co. has addressed those needs this year with the start of our Product Specialist Team. This team provides support for AMS products, machine optimization service, customer and employee training and other customer support services. One of the major challenges customers and dealers face is supporting all of the new technolo-gies and products. One way RDO Equipment Co. has addressed this challenge is by offering Value Added Services that customers can purchase to ensure proactive, professional support for these products to help eliminate the situations where there is a backlog because of an overwhelming amount of support that is needed by many customers at the same time. These services range from ac-cessing RDO Equipment Co.’s Technical Support Call Center and John Deere’s Customer Contact Center to our team going out to a customer’s farm and performing proactive training and setup for different machines and technologies customers have in their op-erations, helping our customers to be more efficient and profitable.
For years many of these services were considered free, so why would I now purchase support for my technology from RDO Equipment Co.? RDO Equipment Co. realizes this is a shift, as technology becomes more relevant in farming practices and the need for additional staff and training is necessary, so is the need to look at changing the way we provide service. It is RDO Equipment Co.’s belief that offering proactive services that reduce costly downtime can have significant value for our customers. The Kindred, ND RDO Equipment Co. team has turned the offerings of these services into a great success for our customers. Account manager Brian Ordahl of Kindred, ND saw the value in these Value Added Services. “I realized that this type of service could be real beneficial to our customers, when spring comes we are always under the gun with calls from our customers starting in the field and not having things set up correctly or an update is miss-ing”. Brian, along with Josh Stroh, Product Specialist for Kindred and Lisbon, ND started visiting with customers about the services. RDO Equipment Co. customers see the value too. Steve Miller of Durbin ND, said this “The V.A.S. I purchased was the on farm start up and apex training. Josh has been out 2 or 3 times. I have no problem paying RDO to help train me to organize apex to begin
the planting season. It helps me keep all my data straight. I did not have any issues this spring after their scheduled appoint-ments. I really appreciate that. It is a real stress reliever for me.” Another customer Kelly Kohoutek of Geneseo, ND, recognizes the value in the time he is saved. “I felt the V.A.S. was very beneficial. We did not have any start up issues. By purchasing the V.A.S. it took a lot off my plate so I could concentrate on more important things other than what issues will I have this spring. We had the tractor, planter and 4730 sprayer all done at the same time so we knew they were talking to each other. I had no issues during planting and spraying. It gave me a real peace of mind”
To date there have been over 300 Value Added Services purchased by RDO Equipment Co. customers. Once the services are purchased the Product Specialist team schedules the execution of those services with the customer, doing it when it’s convenient for the customer and not when we are in the heat of the season. The plans ranged from operator training to checking settings in the displays to making sure the equipment was “talk-ing to each other” as they should. The results for these customers were nothing but astounding, customers were able to go to the field with minimal or no downtime because many of the issues were either found out before hand or training issues for the operators were addressed ahead of time.
