Equipment.The following equipment and technology will be essential for the filming and editing of our music video.

Video Camera.After trialling a few different camera’s this was the one that we found easiest to use and the one that we thought had the highest quality outcome –something we thought is very important to create a successful end product. We wanted to make sure that the battery was substantial and long-lasting due to the fact that we were filming a lot of our shots outdoors with no source of electricity. This camera is HD (high-definition) causing a more professional, clearer end result.

Tripod.A tripod is essential for our filming in order to keep the camera steady and straight, hopefully making our film look a lot more professional and thought through. Also, we have planned to use the tripod as a camera boom for our crane and high angled shots by pushing the legs together and reaching it up into the air as one. This will allow us to use many more shot types, angles and techniques to add different effects and perspectives for the audience to create a much more interesting, varied overall production.

Macbook.We will use the school Macbooks for many things but primarily their key use is allowing us to edit our footage on iMovie (a pre-loaded apple programme). iMovie allows us to do multiple things such as add music, edit the footage together, alter colourings, zoom in or out, straighten, smooth, reverse and speed up or slow down shots.

SD card.The SD card goes straight into the video camera that we are using so all of our footage will be saved directly on to it. This provides us with a simple way to save all of our footage together in the same place and transfer it straight onto the macs and iMovie when we need it. It also means we can save all our clips and store them until we need them. It will mean our clips are in 2 places (mac and SD card) so it backs them all up in case anything happened to the school mac.
