Silence

Speed

Simplicity

Silence

Quiet – for a pleasant working environmentOur innovative OptiBowl concept allows us to offer you significant assistance without having to compromise volume in the lab. Disruptive operational noise is reduced considerably with the latest generation of devices. Save a work step – with the Centrifuge 5418, Centrifuge 5418 R, Centrifuge 5424 and Centrifuge 5424 R models, you can easily do without the rotor lid*.

* only in the case of samples to be centrifuged in a non aerosol-tight manner

Speed

Fast – the right speed for each application, up to more than 30,000 × g Decide for yourself how quickly or gently you want to centrifuge your samples. We offer the ideal centrifuge for every task: and at a speed of over 30,000 × g in the case of Centrifuge 5430 and Centrifuge 5430 R. For Centrifuge 5424 R, a prior cooling of approx. 21 °C to 4 °C is possible within 8 minutes.

Simplicity

Simple – thanks to intuitive operationFor us, intuitive operation means that every one of your employees can operate the devices. Immediately, and without extra effort to familiarize themselves. The family concept means that the operation of the different Eppendorf centrifuge models is very similar – once you know one, you know them all.Routine daily processes are mastered quickly and simply. The ergonomic lid clip principle of the devices is particularly convenient. You can always close the device safely and reliably by applying minimal pressure to the lid. Furthermore, the low loading height on our centri-fuges makes it easier to remove rotors and individual samples.

Our rotors are increasingly being equipped with the QuickLock rotor lid system. Just a quarter turn, and the rotor lid is fixed in place.

Page 8: Eppendorf_Microcentrifuges

8

The aim of all Eppendorf devices is to be safe and reliable. Only this way can we consistently guarantee the highest possible lab standards, as you require for your daily work. Your benefi ts:

‡ Occupational safetyOur latest generation of microcentrifuges is equipped with an aerosol-tight*2 rotor lid, which can be recognized by its red rotary knob. The aerosol-tight rotors can be removed from the centrifuge in a closed state, and can then be opened in a safety cabinet.

‡ CompactnessWith their small footprint, even small labs have enough space for our microcentrifuges. The low loading height makes it even easier and more comfortable to replace rotors and samples. In the case of cooling centrifuges, compact and high-performance compressors ensure a well aligned provision of the necessary cooling performance in a small space.

‡ Time-savingThe Centrifuge 5424 R uses the FastTemp function to cool from 21 °C to 4 °C in just 8 minutes. In the case of the Centrifuge 5430 R, the FastTemp pro allows you to structure the cooling process with even less complication, using the programmable preset time. Decide when the centrifuge is to start independently with a FastTemp run for pre-cooling.

Your Benefi ts

Your Microcentrifuges – As Safe and Flexible as Possible

‡ Within Centrifuge 5424, the air is guided outside the rotor chamber via circumferential cooling fi ns. The heat arising in the rotor chamber is effi ciently discharged outside. The benefi t to you? A very quiet centrifuge, as the air turbulence in the chamber is reduced.

Page 9: Eppendorf_Microcentrifuges

9

‡ Flexibility Our centrifuges have a large selection of rotors. In the case of Centrifuge 5430 and Centrifuge 5430 R, eight different rotors and a large selection of adapters are available: for 0.2 mL PCR vessels and PCR plates up to 50 mL vessels.

‡ User friendliness Most of our models can, as an option, be operated by rotary knobs to rapidly configure the parameters, or using a keypad for simple cleaning.

‡ Low noise levels Using our OptiBowl concept for Centrifuge 5418, Centrifuge 5418 R, Centrifuge 5424 and Centrifuge 5424 R, it is also possible to centrifuge quietly without a rotor lid – unless, of course, you wish to work in an aerosol-tight manner.

‡ ErgonomicsYou can always close the device safely and reliably with minimum exertion – thanks to the sophisticated lid clip.

‡ Multilingualism Centrifuge 5430 and Centrifuge 5430 R come with user instructions in four languages – English, German, French and Spanish.

*1 Eppendorf centrifuges are used to separate substance mixtures of various densities and, in particular, prepare and process samples from the human body within the scope of in-vitro diagnostic applications so that the in-vitro diagnostic can be used according to its specifi c function. For this reason, centrifuges, as in-vitro accessories, are in-vitro diagnostic devices as defi ned by Directive 98/79/EC of the European Parliament and of the Council of 27 October 1998 on in vitro diagnostic medical devices. Eppendorf centrifuges are exclusively intended for indoor use by trained specialists.

*2 The aerosol tightness has been tested and confi rmed in accordance with the procedure of Bennett et al. from the Centre for Applied Micro biology & Research in Porton Down, CAMR, Great Britain, in accordance with annex AA of IEC 1010-2-020. In the test procedure, biological material (bacteria) is released in a closed rotor and in a closed square vessel. Air samples and swabs from inside the centrifuge are examined for bacterial contamination, in order to ensure that no biological material escaped from the closed rotor or closed square vessel during the run.
