    Design of jointsFor cables without armourThe joint cons ists of four or five inner andthe o ne o uter heat-s hrinkable tubing. Theconnectors are insulated and sealed bythick-wa ll tubing w hich is pre-coa tedwith a hot-melt a dhesive. The outerprotection and sealing is performed bythick-wa ll hea t-shrinka ble t ubing.     Design of jointsThe co res of the pa per ca ble are coveredwith oil res ista nt tubing. Hea t-shrinkablebreakouts prevent any moisture ingress oroil leakag e a t the end of the meta l shea th

    or of the ca ble cores. Mechanica l connectors are included to join thecond uctors. The c onnectors a re insulatedand sealed by thick-wall tubing which ispre-coa ted w ith a hot-melt adhesive.Thick-wa ll hea t-shrinka ble tub ing pre-coa ted w ith a hot-melt ad hesive sea l tothe metal sheath and provides the outerse aling a nd protect ion. The kit include ssupplementary materials for c ab lepreparation.

    Design of jointsFor cables without armourThe cores a re co nnected a nd sea led w ithDuraS eal co nnectors. A cardboa rd linerensures a round s hape over which theouter protection and sealing is performedby a thick-wa ll hea t-shrinkable tubing.

    For cables with steel tape armourThe inner jointing is pe rformed a s fo rcables without armour. In addition, atinned grid is w rapped around the jointing

    area a nd mecha nica lly secured andelectrica lly co nnected to the steel tap eby roll springs. The outer protection a ndsealing is performed by a thick-wall,hea t-shrinkable tubing.

    DuraSeal - pre-insulated connectors and terminals

    ApplicationProvides an environmentally sealed core

    co nnection for insta lla tion c ab les. To b eused in joints or as a sealed terminal.

    ConstructionThe co nnecto r co nsists o f a crimp ba rrel

    and a pre-insta lled a dhesive coa ted heatshrinkable t ubing.

    The te rminal c ons ists of a crimping lug

    and a pre-installed adhesive coated heatshrinkable tub ing.

    InstallationSelect the correct connection element.Remove the core insulation on a length of7,5 mm. With the a dhes ive not beingsticky at room tempe rature, the cores ca nbe easily inserted into the connector.

    Crimp the connector with a suitablecrimping tool, for example AD-1522-1.

    Heat the c rimped c onnection area w ith ahot air tool until the tubing recovers andthe a dhes ive flow s. The hea ting to olHL2005E-230V and the reflectorHL1802E-070519 a re recom mend ed.
