Rev. Richard J. McAndrewsFather McAndrews, Pastor

Emeritus at Epiphany of Our Lord Church, died on Thurs-day, Nov. 18, at Little Flower Manor, Darby.

Father McAndrews was appointed Assistant Pastor at Epiphany in 1967 and in 2002 he was appointed Pastor.

He was a member of the Ancient Order of the Hibernians and the Knights of Columbus.

Let us pray for the repose of his soul and for comfort for his family.

The former Anglican bishop of Rochester, England, Michael Nazir-Ali, was received into communion with the Catholic Church on Sept. 29, he explained, “Because it is the only Church where decisions that affect everyone are made so that they ‘stick’; where there is a body of doc-trinal and moral teaching that can guide faith; and where there is a magisterium that can teach effectively. There is also a lively sacramental and devotional tradition which appeals.”

He was ordained as a Catholic priest on Oct. 30 by the archbishop of Westminster. As Nazir-Ali is married, he cannot be ordained a Catholic bishop.

He is the 14th Church of England bishop to convert to Catholicism in the last 30 years.

Fromm thee Pastorr

Please Pray for the Sick Parishioners listed in bold.

Holy Rosary Review Holy Rosary students in grades PreK through eighth, and their teachers, gathered together on Tuesday, Nov. 23 at Epiphany of Our Lord Church to offer their prayerful gratitude to God. The prayer service began with an introduc-tion followed by the student body energetically singing America the Beautiful. Next, student leaders read the First Reading and the Gospel. After we reflected on the gospel, three students from each grade processed to the altar, and as the words in the refrain of One Bread, One Body were sung; the students raised and lowered se-lected gifts corresponding to the song’s words. These gifts included loaves of bread, crucifixes, chalices, flowers, and globes. We concluded our prayer service with several heartfelt verses of Let There Be Peace on Earth.

This Thanksgiving Prayer Service was a beautiful tribute to God for all that he has creat-ed and shared with us. We are filled with grati-tude for God’s extraordinary gifts, and for the bounty of family, friends, and food that we en-joyed this Thanksgiving.

From the Children I shared. I went to Mass. I worked hard.

Peace
