Progress in the Recent 1-year• Linac and RCS
– Proton beam was accelerated successfully to the design values (181 MeV/ Linac, 3 GeV/RCS, respectively).

• Linac : Goal is 181MeVx{30mA,500us,25Hz}– Studies toward high power operation
• {5mA,20us,2.5Hz} in Jan.2007 #1st successful beam• -> Jun.2007: {5mA,50us,25Hz}, {5mA,250us,5Hz} # high duty• -> Jan.2008: {30mA,50us,1Hz} # high beam-current
– Various improvements using beam diagnostics systems• But more studies needed
• RCS : Beam accelerated to the design value, 3GeV– 1 bunch operation: 4.4x10^12 ppb with 25Hz (52.5kW)
• peak current 25mA, bunch width 560ns, for 4 minutes• Beam loss is at injection collimators
– Toward “stable” operation with 20kW output in 2008• Not enough RF power for higher power operation • More spare parts for MR test and future regular operation

• MR (by KEK) : will start beam commissioning in May– Installation of accelerator components are in progress
• Installation is in the final phase• MR members are working very hard
– Off-beam commissioning was started • Powering of magnet power-supplies since Dec.24.2007
– Still … on schedule, but very tight
• MR : beam commissioning plan – May-June.2008: 3GeV DC operation– Dec.-Feb.2009: Accelerate beam to 30 GeV, Beam extraction to HD facility– Apr.-June.2009: Beam extraction to NU facility

– Disk Server : Dedicated storage disk (IBM N3600/NetApp) • User’s operational size is 1TB(program)+7TB(data)• Introduced in Feb.2008, will be in operation very soon

• developed by commissioning staff using XAL/JCE and SAD• Contributed to beam commissioning successfully
