Environmental & Occupational HealthM A S T E R O F P U B L I C H E A L T HThe Department of Environmental and Occupational Health at the Colorado School of Public Health
focuses on preventing environmental and occupational health related disease and promoting health
through our education, research, and community service. Our MPH program on the University of
Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus prepares students to contemplate the causes and consequences
of contaminated environments on human health and the ways in which public health professionals can
intervene to improve the environment at home, in the workplace, and in the broader community.
From risk assessment and injury prevention to policy and healthy community design, we offer courses
and curriculum to meet students’ varied interests. In addition to our MPH program, the Department is
home to the Occupational & Environmental Medicine Residency Program, a DrPH program, and offers
certificates in Total Worker Health® and Public Health Preparedness & Disaster Response.
Environmental and occupational health professionals work to find ways to keep our
environments and workplaces healthy and safe. Graduates with an MPH in environmental
and occupational health play an essential role in protecting the public from exposures to
biological, chemical and physical agents and promoting healthy lifestyles.
