Anthem I Will Be With You Commissioned by the Chancel Choir in honor of Marilyn Ward for sixty years of

faithful service as a choir member and accompanist.

Words: Joel Raney (based on Isaiah 43) Music: Joel Raney

When you pass through the water, when you walk through the fire,

when the rivers overflow, I will be with you. When you walk through the desert, when you’re caught in the storm,

when you lose your way, I will be with you. When you can’t find the answer, when you’re filled with despair,

when you stumble and fall I will be with you. When you’re tired from the struggle, when you’re weak from the pain,

lean on me. I will be with you!

For I have called you by name, you’ve heard the echo of my voice whisper, “I love you, you are mine.”

For you are precious in my sight, and I will guide you through the night when you walk, walk by faith, and I will be with you.

In your joy and in your pain, if you call out my name I will be with you.

When you walk through the valley of the shadow of death, have no fear, I will be with you!

Ash Wednesday Coming February 14 The beginning of Lent (the 40 days prior to Easter) begins on Ash Wednesday, which will be February 14 this year. To mark this day, we will be offering two (2) services; at 12:00 noon in the Chapel and at 6:30 p.m. in the Sanctuary. Both services will serve communion and impose ashes on the forehead (or back of hand, if you prefer) for those who wish to receive them. The noon service should be less than 40 minutes and the evening service will last less than one hour. The primary difference is that there will be more music in the evening. But for those who don’t enjoy driving at night, we are offering a daytime option as well.

About Today’s Music

Introit Psalm 150 Lloyd Larson

Praise the Lord! Praise the Lord in His sanctuary! Praise the Lord! Praise the Lord in His firmament!

Praise God for His mighty deeds! Praise God according to His greatness!

Praise God with trumpet sound. Let lute and harp resound with tambourine and dance in praise to God!

With strings and pipe let every type of praise be heard! Sound the loud clashing cymbals! Let your praise resound with cymbals!

Let everything that breathes praise God! Alleluia! Sing alleluia!

Processional Hymn Praise to the Lord (sing as directed)

Praise to the Lord, the Almighty, the King of creation! O my soul, praise Him, for He is thy health and salvation!

All ye who hear, now to His temple draw near, join me in glad adoration!

Praise to the Lord! O let all that is in me adore Him!

All that hath life and breath, come now with praises before Him! Let the Amen sound from His people again:

gladly forever adore Him!
