TM-800U
Super Functions
Trunking Features
The HYT TM-800U series radios are rugged, easy to use, and
high-performing mobiles for MPT1327 Trunking System, with
45W power output, yet robust audio clarity in harsh and noisy
environments due to voice compander audio enhancement.
Ideally suited for transportation, military fleet, mining, public
safety and security services.
The TM-800U series radios comply with the MPT1327 signalling
standard with two dialing modes CPSX and MPT1343.
Large Dot Matrix LCDThe 2-line alphanumeric & iconic display allows immediate communication of
vital information such as signal strength indicator, menu number/content,
group call talking party number/alias, PFIX, SYS, roaming indicator.
Individualized display also provides radio number, user name, and group
when radio standby. The keypad and display illuminations also provide the
visibility to operate your radio in the dark.
Auto Select BSThe advanced hunt technology enables the mobile radio always auto-locked
to the BS with stronger signal, especially suitable for the multiple BS system.
As for the single BS, this feature can be disabled.
4 Programmable Functions KeysProvides immediate, easy access to initiate a call, manual hunt control
channel, one-touch trunking/conventional mode switch, emergency call, etc.
Voice CompanderThis feature effectively improves the dynamic range of voice signal and greatly
enhances the S/N ratio at the given frequency deviation. The decreased
background noise ensures superb clear, crisp sound, even in noisy environments.
Powerful AudioTM-800U has a powerful 5W internal or 13W external speaker that makes your
talk penetrate even noisy environments.
Built-in ScramblerMaintaining private and secure communications is increasingly important, with
potentially sensitive information flowing back and forth. The TM-800U’scrambler
feature provides enhanced security for your important public safety and private
security communications.
Front Panel Menu OperationTM-800U mobile has nine main menus, including system information, hunt
mode, radio set, beep volume, ring volume, status message, short data, mode
select, call records.
Manual Select BSWrite parameters of different BS control (signal) channel into different control
channel team, then the user can select BS via the key press.
Flexible Group Call SettingA combination of 80 call groups, including Ack group, join group, temporary
group, hidden group.
EmergencyAllows the user to initiate an emergency call, the Emergency ID can be set via
the programming software.
Temporary Grouping in Roaming SystemManually change the prefix to join the temporary grouping of the roaming
system.
Calling Party Number DisplayWhen radio receives a group call, local LCD displays the talking party number
for caller identification.
Channel Hunt3 Hunt types are provided for your selection via the programming software or
radio menu. Manual hunt button is programmable.
Status MessageReceived status message displays the message plus the number of the sender.
Use the UP and Down keys to scroll through and further view up to 10 status
messages. The messages are of maximum 32 types.
Short DataAllows the user to send and receive short data messages. TM-800U displays up
to 10 short data messages with each up to 20 digits.
Call RecordThe call history shows the last 10 dialed lists 10 missed calls and 10 received
lists.
Dynamic RegroupingUsers have the flexibility to reassign the radios into new talkgroups for urgent
communication, eliminating the need to return the radios to the workshop for re-
programming. The system designated temporary group number is changed upon
the mobile radio receives temporary grouping signal from the trunking system.
Kill/ReviveThe trunking system could remotely inhibit transmit of a mobile radio according
to radio ID. A killed radio will be remotely revived and return to operational use
after it receives the revive code.
Vote NowAfter the mobile radio has received a broadcasting signalling from the system, it
will sample the field strength of base stations nearby if the designated base
Conventional Features
512 channels and dynamic regroupingHigh 512-channel operating capacity on the TM-800U enables the mobiles to
accommodate a vast number of users and work groups concurrently. Each zone
or channel can be assigned with a customized name for easy identification.
Dynamic regrouping provides greater flexibility in organising different work
groups.
Versatile Signalings The TM-800U mobile is packed with a full range of signalling capabilities,
including CTCSS, CDCSS, DTMF, 2-Tone.
Remote Mount Control HeadThe remote mount control head can be mounted on the dashboard without the
radio chassis, ideal when space is constraint.
Public Address (PA)The PA feature feeds MIC audio through a powerful external PA amplifier, and
outputs through external speaker, offering robust audio clarity in harsh, noisy
environments.
Versatile ScanThree scan modes are available: single zone scan, multiple zone scan and list
zone scan. Achievable functions include add/delete scan channel, temporarily
close priority channel, temporarily delete nuisance channel, and user selectable
priority channel.
Auto Power Control (APC)In case of long time transmission at high power, the TM-800U series will
automatically switch to low output power to avoid radio over-heating.
Password ProtectionThe radio offers power on password protection, to prevent unauthorized use;
plus reading password to both protect the privacy and prevent unauthorized
cloning of radio data.
Ignition SenseUsed to detece whether the vehicle is started. TM-800U can be powered on
only after the ignition. The feature can also be used to set how soon TM-800U
powers down automatically after the staling (among 0 and 24 hours).
