Lesson 1: Expense Planning The user wants to change the following assumptions for the Operating Expense plan:

Increase “Number of Events” by 100% Increase “Number of Campaigns” from 36 to 46 (an increase of 10 campaigns) Change the trend for “Cost per Advertisement” to “Current Month Actual” Increase “Airfare” by 20% Change Taxes to be 1,000,000

2. Select the “Driver and Trend Based” tab from the vertical tabs on the left-hand side of the screen.

3. Make sure that Years is set to “FY16”, if not, select the FY16 from the dropdown and hit the “Go” button (unhide the dimensions for Year, etc.)

4. Increase “Number of Events” by 100%. Remember to type 1 to get 100%

5. Increase “Number of Campaigns” from 36 to 46 (an increase of 10 campaigns). Place the additional 10 campaigns all in December. (Note: you may need to expand the “Adjustment” area, instead of the other “YearTotal” columns, which are read-only)

6. Change the trend for “Cost per Advertisement” from “Current Month Actual” to “Prior Year Actual Average”

8. Click on the Operating Expense label in the graph to drill into expenses chart to see the different expenses as well as the marketing expenses.

9. Select the “Driver Based Expenses” tab (Horizontal tab) to view the individual expenses accounts calculated from the drivers.

Exercise 2: Change a Trend Assumption Not all accounts can be based on drivers. Therefore, accounts not based on drivers can still leverage the “Trends” from the “Trend based Expense Planning” screen. 1. Select the “Trend Based Expense Planning” (horizontal tab). Scroll down to “Selling Expense”

2. Update ‘Selling Expense’ by changing the trend to “Current Year Actual Average”.

Lesson 2: Revenue Planning Let’s review and update various assumptions in the revenue plan for the “Sales US” entity. Exercise 1: Update Revenue Drivers Let’s change the following assumptions for the revenue plan:

Apply a 20% increase to product ‘Volume’, Apply a 5% increase to ‘Average Selling Price’. Change the Trend pattern for “Return %” from “Current Month Actual” to

Current Year Actual Average”

1. Select the “Revenue” card.

2. Select the “Driver and Trend Based” tab from the vertical tabs on the left-hand side of the screen.

you can make the POV visible by selecting something therein. b) The go button we reference below is a right-facing arrow.

8. Select “Driver Based Revenue” horizontal tab to see the resulting account break-down of Total Revenue. Confirm that the values of ‘Product Revenue’ and ‘Returns’ depicted below matches the results in you environment.

9. Run a ‘Rollup’ to aggregate the Plan revenue numbers for income statement reporting. Click on Home Icon, Select the Rules Card, from the available Rules, select “Roll-up” and click on the Launch Icon. Fill in the required Prompts as shown, to run the “Rollup” Rule. After the Rule is Run, From the Home Page, select the Financials Cluster, then Revenue Card. From the Vertical tabs select the last tab “Income Statement” to review the income statement.

3. Select the “Marketing” category. Then from the Component Drop Down, select “Marketing Expense Drivers”. Note that you can toggle between the out-of-box “Marketing Expense Drivers” and out-of-box “Total Marketing Expense” accounts. Select “Marketing Expense Drivers”

9. After “Save”, “Close” the window. Refresh the database to commit the changes. This is an important step. Complete the Refresh Database process.

10. Open the “Driver Based Expense Planning” screen to see that the new expense account and drivers is automatically available within the planning form. Enter a value in the new ‘Social Media’ drivers and “Save”.
