Introduction The following exercises are intended to provide the following:

Lesson 1: Expense Planning The user wants to change the following assumptions for the Operating Expense plan:

Increase “Number of Events” by 100% Increase “Number of Campaigns” from 36 to 46 (an increase of 10 campaigns) Change the trend for “Cost per Advertisement” to “Current Month Actual” Increase “Airfare” by 20% Change Taxes to be 1,000,000

Exercise 1: Update Expense Drivers 1. Select ‘Expense’ planning process.



2. Select the “Driver and Trend Based” tab from the vertical tabs on the left-hand side of the screen.



3. Make sure that Years is set to “FY16”, if not, select the FY16 from the dropdown and hit the “Go” button (unhide the dimensions for Year, etc.)

4. Increase “Number of Events” by 100%. Remember to type 1 to get 100%

5. Increase “Number of Campaigns” from 36 to 46 (an increase of 10 campaigns). Place the additional 10 campaigns all in December. (Note: you may need to expand the “Adjustment” area, instead of the other “YearTotal” columns, which are read-only)



6. Change the trend for “Cost per Advertisement” from “Current Month Actual” to “Prior Year Actual Average”

7. Save and calculate.



8. Click on the Operating Expense label in the graph to drill into expenses chart to see the different expenses as well as the marketing expenses.

9. Select the “Driver Based Expenses” tab (Horizontal tab) to view the individual expenses accounts calculated from the drivers.

Exercise 2: Change a Trend Assumption Not all accounts can be based on drivers. Therefore, accounts not based on drivers can still leverage the “Trends” from the “Trend based Expense Planning” screen. 1. Select the “Trend Based Expense Planning” (horizontal tab). Scroll down to “Selling Expense”

2. Update ‘Selling Expense’ by changing the trend to “Current Year Actual Average”.





Then save changes to recalculate the expense.



Note the change of expense from 157728 to 163206 COMPLETE



Exercise 3: Manual Input & Reports Some accounts are necessary to simply manually enter – as opposed to the use of “drivers-” or “trends”. 1. Select “Direct Entry” from the vertical tabs on the left hand side of the expanse planning area



2. Change Taxes to be 2,000,000 (you can just say 2M). Save the changes



3. After Save, select “Total Expense – Plan” report to view the final results.



NOTE: You can also access reports from the “Analysis” card.



Lesson 2: Revenue Planning Let’s review and update various assumptions in the revenue plan for the “Sales US” entity. Exercise 1: Update Revenue Drivers Let’s change the following assumptions for the revenue plan:

Apply a 20% increase to product ‘Volume’, Apply a 5% increase to ‘Average Selling Price’. Change the Trend pattern for “Return %” from “Current Month Actual” to

Current Year Actual Average”

1. Select the “Revenue” card.

2. Select the “Driver and Trend Based” tab from the vertical tabs on the left-hand side of the screen.



3. Select the product and market in the POV: NOTES: a) if the POV is not visible, you can go to the right to find the >> icon where

you can make the POV visible by selecting something therein. b) The go button we reference below is a right-facing arrow.

Product = “Smart Phone 4 in” Market = “US Market” and hit the “Go Button”



4. Increase ‘Volume’ by 20% (HINT: Percentages are entered as decimals. So, 20% must be entered as ‘.2’):

5. Increase ‘Average Selling Price’ by 5%:

6. Change the Trend for ‘Return %’ to “Current Year Actual Average”





7. Save changes to re-calculate the revenue plan. To save place your cursor over the area shown in the image below and the save icon will show up, click on save. View resulting impact on numbers and the graph. You further drill the chart to see different revenue





8. Select “Driver Based Revenue” horizontal tab to see the resulting account break-down of Total Revenue. Confirm that the values of ‘Product Revenue’ and ‘Returns’ depicted below matches the results in you environment.

9. Run a ‘Rollup’ to aggregate the Plan revenue numbers for income statement reporting. Click on Home Icon, Select the Rules Card, from the available Rules, select “Roll-up” and click on the Launch Icon. Fill in the required Prompts as shown, to run the “Rollup” Rule. After the Rule is Run, From the Home Page, select the Financials Cluster, then Revenue Card. From the Vertical tabs select the last tab “Income Statement” to review the income statement.

Lesson 3: Using the ‘Configure’ screen in the Application Cluster Add a new driver for marketing, extend the solution! 1. Select the “Application” from the Homepage. Then click on the Configure Card.



2. On the “Configure” card. Select the “Expense” wizard.



3. Select the “Marketing” category. Then from the Component Drop Down, select “Marketing Expense Drivers”. Note that you can toggle between the out-of-box “Marketing Expense Drivers” and out-of-box “Total Marketing Expense” accounts. Select “Marketing Expense Drivers”



4. Export all accounts by selecting ‘Batch Export’ from the ‘Actions’ menu

5. View the export file. For convenience hid all the alias columns (C-W)





6. We would like to create a new marketing expense account for ‘Social Campaigns’. This account should be calculated from two drivers i.e. “Number of Social Campaigns” and “Cost Per Social Campaign”

NOTE: For your convenience attached is a file with the new rows added correctly. Name of the file “Expense Accounts_Batch_Import.xlsx” 7. From the Actions Button Batch Import the given file.





8. Note that the two new drivers and account have been added to the system. Please remember to ‘Save’ after Importing





9. After “Save”, “Close” the window. Refresh the database to commit the changes. This is an important step. Complete the Refresh Database process.





10. Open the “Driver Based Expense Planning” screen to see that the new expense account and drivers is automatically available within the planning form. Enter a value in the new ‘Social Media’ drivers and “Save”.



11. Review the calculated results in the driver based expense form
