To ensure safe use of the product, be sure to read these “Entaniya Fisheye Lens Safety Precautions” before use. This Instruction Manual describes important precautions for preventing accidents and the proper handling method for this product. Be sure to carefully read the Instruction Manual and use the product in a safe manner. After reading this Instruction Manual, keep it in a safe place for quick reference whenever needed. WARNING CAUTION Failure to observe this instruction when handling the product may result in serious injury or death. Failure to observe this instruction when handling the product may result in injury or damage to property. Entaniya Fisheye Lens Safety Precautions WARNING • Do not disassemble or modify the lens. • Do not immerse the lens in water or allow it to become wet. • Do not look directly at the sun or other strong light sources through the lens. This may result in loss of vision. • Keep the lens out of the reach of children. The lens may be dropped and/or break, possibly resulting in injury. CAUTION • Do not keep the lens in extremely hot or extremely cold locations. • Do not use the lens in locations hotter than 35°C or colder than 0°C. The picture quality may deteriorate or the lens may malfunction. In addition, condensation may form when the lens is moved from a cold location to a warm location. Place the lens in a plastic bag beforehand and allow it to acclimate to the ambient temperature before use. Perform these same measures when moving the lens from a warm location to a cold location. • Do not point the lens at the sun or other intense light sources. The image sensor inside the camera may burn out and become unable to capture images. • Do not subject the lens to physical impacts. The lens unit is not intended for use in situations such as sports that subject the lens to continuous vibration or impact. Use under these conditions may cause the lens to crack or the aluminum materials to break. The aluminum parts cannot withstand heavy loads, so be sure to also support the lens when shooting. • Secure both the lens mount and the lens unit before use. Otherwise, the lens may fall off unexpectedly. • When mounting and removing the lens, hold the lens firmly and perform the procedure carefully. Otherwise, the lens may be dropped during mounting and removal. • Always attach the lens caps to the lens for storage. • Do not leave the lens in a location exposed to direct sunlight. The lens may focus the sunlight onto a nearby object, resulting in fire. When exposure to direct sunlight cannot be avoided, attach the lens caps. In addition, leaving the lens in an extremely hot location such as the inside of a vehicle exposed to direct sunlight may result in malfunction. • Do not place the lens in a dusty location or a location exposed to soot or steam. This may result in malfunction. • Do not leave the lens in a highly humid location for a long period. Mold may form on the lens. • After attaching the lens to the camera, do not carry the camera while holding it by just the lens unit. • When attaching the lens to another device, be sure to read the instruction manual of the attached device and check beforehand that there will be no adverse effects. • The warranty period is one year from the shipment date. • Once this warranty period has passed, repairs will be performed on a chargeable basis. Also, the customer is responsible for transportation of the product, and for any costs incurred in transporting the product. • Malfunctions arising from careless handling (for example: falling; physical impacts; exposure to water; adherence of sand or dirt; or the entry of water, sand or dirt inside the lens) or improper care (for example, the formation of mold) will be repaired on a chargeable basis. Note that the lens may be deemed non-repairable in some cases. • Entaniya cannot assume responsibility for any incidental problems or damages (including but not limited to expenses incurred during the course of shooting or loss of potential profits derived from shooting) arising from the malfunction of this product. Warranty and Customer Service • This lens has an extremely wide angle of view, which makes it easy for strong light sources such as the sun to enter the frame. As a result, flare and ghosting may occur depending on the shooting conditions. To prevent flare and ghosting, it is recommended that you take measures to prevent the lens from receiving intense light when shooting, such as by shooting from a shaded location. • Take care when shooting, as it is easy for your body (during hand-held shooting) or the tripod legs (when using a tripod) to be accidentally captured in the frame. • This is an interchangeable lens, so the center of the image circle may be offset from the center of the frame. Likewise, uneven vignetting may occur in the corners of the picture. • The exposure depends on the functions of the camera to which the lens is attached, so the proper exposure may not be possible when used with certain camera models. In addition, this lens has an extremely wide angle of view and the subject brightness range is also large, so it is recommended that you take multiple shots using as many different exposures as possible to find the best exposure. Notes on Shooting • Do not touch the lens surface directly. • If dust or dirt adheres to the lens surface, blow it off with an air blower or gently wipe the lens surface using a dry, soft cloth. • If fingerprints or oil adheres to the lens surface, gently wipe the lens surface from the center outward using a commercially available cleaning cloth moistened with lens cleaning fluid. Never use benzene, paint thinner, or other organic solvents Tips for a Longer Service Life 2-6-8,NISHI-WASEDA SHINJUKU-KU;TOKYO 169-0051 JAPAN ENTANIYA,CO.,LTD.(JAPAN CORPORATION) http://www.entaniya.co.jp/ If using the included CS mount adapter, use the included screws to affix it in four or more points.
