6 Version Rollback

6.1 Version Rollback Due to an Upgrade Failure

If the upgrade fails due to an exception, the eNodeB automatically rolls back the current version to the pre-upgrade one.

The rollback process takes about 20 minutes. When the upgrade fails, wait for 20 minutes, and then log in to the eNodeB on the Web LMT or M2000 client.

If you successfully log in to the eNodeB, perform related operations by referring to section 3.4 "Querying the Configured Status, Installed Status, and Online Status of Each Board" and section 3.5 "Querying the Current Version of the eNodeB Software" to check the version rollback.

6.2 Version Rollback After the UpgradeIf you need to roll back the current version to the pre-upgrade one for a specific purpose after the upgrade is successful, perform the operations as follows:

Page 28: eNodeB Upgrade Guide

1 Version Rollback eNodeB V100R001C01 Upgrade Guide

CAUTION During the version rollback, run the RBK SOFTWARE command.

The version rollback takes about 15 minutes.

After the version rollback is complete, services are interrupted for three to five minutes.

During the version rollback, do not send an RST command, power off the eNodeB, or remove a board. Otherwise, the version rollback fails, and the board files may be damaged. The eNodeB can automatically restore the damaged files. When the files are being restored, the functions of the board are unavailable.

Version Rollback on the Web LMT

Run the RBK SOFTWARE command to roll back the current version to the pre-upgrade one.

To roll back the version, proceed as follows:

Step 1 Check that the status of each board is Configed, Installed, or Online by referring to section 3.4 "Querying the Configured Status, Installed Status, and Online Status of Each Board."

Step 2 Run the RBK SOFTWARE command. The MML command information pane shows the progress of version rollback.

If Failed Boards is not 0, perform troubleshooting by referring to section 7.7 "FAQ 6."

NOTE

After the version rollback is successful, the eNodeB is disconnected from the Web LMT. Wait for three minutes. After the Web LMT is restarted, you can log in to the eNodeB on the WebLMT.

----End

Version Rollback on the M2000 Client

Click and select a specified eNodeB to open the MML command page. Then, perform related operations that are similar to the operations on the Web LMT to roll back the version.

NOTE

After the version rollback is successful, the eNodeB is disconnected from the M200 server. Wait for three minutes. The eNodeB can be connected to the M2000 server again.
