future ndash President Obamarsquos Stimulus Plan is a major boost for civilstructural mechanical electrical amp environmental disciplines

Currently there is 1 engineer for every 120

people in the US or 1 engineer for every 65 US workers

The Bureau of Labor Statistics projects that

nearly 21 million people will be employed in the US as engineers in 2020 compared to less than 15 million in 1991

Speakers backgroundPaul Redwood Category Engineering Manager Unilever Paul Redwood has over 20 years experience in the food household and personal care industry He joined Unilever in 1995 and has worked on a variety of business change programs including guiding manufacturing teams through the problem solving process using analytical tools from Kepner Tregoe He works out of Corporate Headquarters in Englewood Cliffs NJ and reports to the Director of Engineering He is currently responsible for executing new product launches as well as implementing best practices and standardization across plant sites

Prior to joining Unilever he served as an Engineering and Maintenance Manager for a division of

Eastman Kodak (L amp F Products) which produced Lysol brand products Paul also previously

worked with Kraft General Foods in the Operations Quality Assurance and Engineering areas

Mr Redwood has acquired substantial project management expertise with plastic extrusion

can manufacturing aerosols powders bulk solids and liquid filling operations

Mr Redwood holds a BS in Mechanical Engineering from Hofstra University and a Masters

in Engineering Management from New Jersey Institute of Techology He also holds a EIT

Professional Engineering Certificate and he is a Certified Program Leader amp Process Consultant

for Problem Solving and Decision Making with Kepner-Tregoe

He is a current alumni member of NSBE Mr Redwood also served on the Advisory Board of

the Math amp Sciences Program at Fayetteville State University Paul has collaborated to produce

several technical and problem solving articles for Packaging World magazine Packaging

Technology amp Engineering and Kepner-Tregoersquos Forum magazine

Paul has two daughters Racquel age 20 who is studying Bio-Medical Engineering and Roxanne age 14

who will be representing the State of New Jersey at the upcoming national gymnastics meet He will be celebrating his 23rd anniversary in 6 months with his dear wife Rosemary His interests include soccer baseball and he loves to find whatever excuse he can to enjoy a round of golf
