Creative Writing
Students in Creative Writing experiment each day with diverse genres, different
writing styles. We begin each day with a journal writing “warm up” and dive into a different writing exercise. Students then
select their favorites to put in their quarterly portfolios. Your assignments are
up to you--give it a try!
Did you know that some of your favorite films probably started out as great works of fiction? Have you ever seen Shawshank
Redemption? Slumdog Millionaire? One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest? Stand By Me?
Equilibrium? In the Novel/Fiction elective, we’ll study these terrific films and the novels and short stories that inspired them. Join us in the fun! Register for Novel/Fiction today.
Novel/Fiction Elective
Don’t fear Shakespeare! In this course, we’ll read about a hunchbacked king
who’ll kill anyone who gets in his way -- even children! We’ll laugh as we watch two people argue
and bicker and deny they’re in love, all the way to the altar. And we’ll read one of Shakespeare’s greatest
tragedies about a man so in love with his wife and so jealous that she’ll leave him that he does the
unthinkable. We’ll play games, do some acting, watch some great films, and, above all, have fun. Sign up
today!
