ensures ergonomic access to the instruments at all times and during all treatment phases. The handle on the instrument console also ensures easy manoeuvring.

The top tray can be rotated to the desired position, so that it is always within optimal access for the dentist and the assistant.

During patient change, the instrument console can be positioned behind the patient chair backrest, allowing easy service of the instruments and handpieces. This console position also allows a relaxed patient entry, as a patient approaching the chair will not see the instruments.

Planmeca Compact s is controlled with multiple microprocessors, which allows new features to be added with software upgrades. With the intelligent Plug&Perform instrument system and the seamless information technology integration, the unit allows all user benefi ts required within modern dentistry.

The unit frame, patient chair, and side delivery arm elements are made of cast aluminium alloy, a rigid yet lightweight material. All metal parts are epoxy painted, and as such completely insensitive to scratching and impacts. The epoxy paint also stands up to disinfectants normally used in the dental practice.

The digital unit foot control provides easy-to-use and aseptic hands-free controls of the chair, unit, and instruments. The stable and reliable mechanical construction and the logical functionality of this digital foot control contribute to easy and intuitive use. The advanced digital control system even allows the foot control functions to be customised so that the users can create such operation logic that best suits them.

The Planmeca Compact s design redefi nes the whole concept of side instrument delivery. Its light manoeuvrability and highly fl exible movements perfectly adapt to treatment workfl ow, promoting smooth operation and good working ergonomics. The absence of a traditional chair base provides ample legroom and clear, easy-to-maintain fl oor surface.

The fl exible side delivery arm is balanced for a lock-free and precise height adjustment. The instrument console is equipped with needle bearings, so it can be positioned smoothly and the instruments are always optimally placed. The effortless console positioning

For fl exible four-handed dentistry, the suction arm can be equipped with a control panel, which provides the assistant with all the versatile controls of the unit. In addition, the assistant side can be equipped with a syringe and a LED polymerisation light. Please go to page 18 to see a detailed list of assistant instruments.

The patient chair has pre-programmable chair positions, which make it easy to take the patient to the desired position. Lowering the backrest causes no pulling or pushing on the patient’s back; hence there is no need to readjust their position.

Thanks to the side lifting mechanism and integrated mounting, the chair has an exceptionally large vertical movement range. The lowest position (350 mm from the top of the upholstery) makes it possible for the dentist to remain seated even if the patient needs to be treated in a semi-sitting position. The highest

Planmeca Compact s is also suitable for left-handed dentistry. The great fl exibility makes the unit ideal even for practices where left-handed and right-handed users share the same equipment.

The ultrathin upper part of the patient chair backrest allows the dentist and the assistant to position themselves optimally. This contributes to maintaining ergonomic working postures and ensures good, direct vision to the oral cavity. The thin backrest and the lateral patient chair lifting mechanism also provide superior legroom.

As regards the glass bowl, you can choose between bright Planmeca blue or opaque sandblasted white. If you prefer a unit without a bowl, the cuspidor will have a stylish cover that incorporates an integrated instrument fl ushing holder.

The patient chair is designed with patient comfort in mind. The chair gives stable and extensive support for the patient’s back and arms. The backrest is designed to give support for the elbows. The seat angle is anatomical providing support and comfort even during long treatment sessions, to children and adults alike. The appearance is completed with a smooth, seamless, and easy-to-maintain upholstery.

The patient chair can be equipped with a fi xed or an automatic legrest. The automatic legrest can be moved synchronously to the movements of the backrest, i.e. when you drive the backrest down, the automatic legrest is driven up. This improves patient entrance and exit and facilitates a true face-to-face positioning between the dentist and the patient. The automatic legrest and the armrests are appreciated especially by senior patients.

Identify with colour

Unit and upholstery colourings provide a wide selection of colour combinations which help in creating a convenient and unique treatment environment to every clinic. Whether the choice is the traditional Standard or the Ultra upholstery, there’s a colourful selection to choose from.

The four colour schemes present a variety of cool, warm and fresh combinations, for an elegant, natural or exciting look. The unit colouring options are Topaz, Sapphire, Jade, Crystal, or pure white Pearl, and they can be combined with any of the selection’s Standard or Ultra upholstery colourings. The Identify with colour-scheme gives you the possibility to design a unique world of colours to welcome the patient. Please go to page 19 to see the complete colour matrix.

Children and small patients benefi t from a cushion set that easily adapts the patient chair for their size. These cushions can also be used to extend the legrest to provide extra support for a tall patient’s legs.

LM-ProPower UltraLED scalerTraditional scaler

LM-ProPower UltraLED scaler

The LM-ProPower UltraLED scaler combines various safety and hygiene features. The unique silicone coated grip provides a comfortable, non-slip hold, guaranteeing the instrument will not slip out of the hand even with wet gloves. The grip can be detached for cleaning and autoclaving in 134 °C. The LED light contributes to more effi cient treatment and reduces eyestrain.

Slim and streamlined, LM’s ultrasonic tips create less shadow and effi ciently improve visibility. The tips are made of extremely durable, heat-treated steel, and they come with a velvet polishing that reduces unnecessary light refl ections.

MX brushless micromotor

The MX micromotor is effi cient at high and low speeds, and the torque and rpm controls make restorative and prophylactic operations possible and provide reliable solutions in endodontics.

The dental unit console can be equipped with two MX brushless micromotors giving the user the possibility to have two different handpieces ready for use at all times. This saves the time spent on the operation, as it is not necessary to change handpieces during the treatment.

Planmeca Intracam AF

The fully automatic, unit-integrated Planmeca Intracam AF intraoral video camera is a truly practical tool for modern dentistry. Incorporating an advanced auto focus system and a wide range automatic brightness control, the camera ensures sharp and bright images at fi rst sight. Image freezing, unfreezing, and saving are performed hygienically from the unit foot control.

Planmeca Compact s can be equipped with up to fi ve instruments. The left-hand position is reserved for the syringe, which can be operated simultaneously with any other instrument. The other four positions are fully interchangeable and can adapt any instrument from Planmeca’s wide instrument selection. The side delivery instrument console can be equipped with an optional sixth instrument position that can adapt the Planmeca Intracam AF intraoral video camera.*

The optional Plus package further extends the versatile controls of the unit. It includes individual chair position programming for four users, advanced low-speed control of micromotor, advanced programming of instrument power/speed, and six programmable timers. The Plus package provides these additional features for both the dentist’s and the assistant’s control panels.

feature allows the instruments to be freely positioned in any instrument location. Adding new instruments is easy, as a new instrument can be taken into use by simply connecting the instrument hose to the console and upgrading the software. This means that the user can benefi t from a wider selection of instruments.

The programmable settings of each instrument are stored in the memory. The Plug&Perform feature also allows the instrument hoses to be detached for easy cleaning, thus enhancing thorough hygiene control.

Daily instrument hose fl ushing procedures are highly automated. It is recommended to use the short instrument hose fl ushing during patient change and the long instrument hose fl ushing in the morning and after the last patient.

A periodical waterline treatment with the Planmeca Waterline Cleaning System (WCS) assures removal of microbial biofi lm within the dental unit waterlines. The WCS routine procedure enables low bacterial CFU counts in unit internal waterlines. The automated, computer-controlled procedure assures that there are no residuals of chemicals in treatment water. Thus, Planmeca WCS leaves treatment water pH, smell, taste, and chemical composition unaltered.

The Planmeca Water Management System, WMS, fulfi ls the strictest regulations concerning safe dental

unit water management, providing a full isolation of the dental unit internal waterlines against the city water. Equipped with the WMS, the Planmeca Compact s complies with the European Standard on Inlet Water Isolation (EN1717). The WMS also has the German DVGW approval for materials used.

The WMS includes the Waterline Cleaning System for removal of microbial biofi lm. The container can also be used as a clean water reservoir.

Thanks to the intelligent Suction Tube Cleaning System the suction tubes can be inserted into a washing holder attached to the side of the cuspidor. There’s no need for separate cup for disinfectant, as the disinfectant is simply poured into a dosing cube and the unit measures out the correct solution. The suction tubes are fi lled with the diluted solution and left to immerse for 2 minutes

for thorough cleaning. Immersing is signifi cantly more effective compared to mere fl ushing of the tubes.

Planmeca Compact s helps the dental team to follow the latest infection control procedures. All parts exposed to contamination are removable or protected by removable elements.

The unit’s uniform and smooth surfaces are easy to clean. The unit is made of corrosion-free materials, and its metal body has a resistant and hygienic epoxy paint fi nish. The trays and the instrument console have a high-quality metal construction, and the control panel has an easy-to-clean membrane cover. The seamless upholstery is effortless to clean and stands up to repeated use of recommended cleaning agents.

Motorised headrest

Optionally, the unit can be equipped with a motorised headrest with movements in three dimensions. The headrest enables fully motorised movements for effortless and comfortable head positioning, and provides clear visibility into the oral cavity. An intuitive joystick ensures practical and hygienic operation.

Armrests

The optionally available armrests provide fi rm support that facilitates patient entrance and exit. The right-hand armrest is movable to further enhance easy patient access. The armrests are upholstered with the same high quality material as the patient chair. Also a surgical IV armrest is available.

Planmeca SingLED operating light

The new operating light with a patented, faceted structure and a single LED construction provides perfect, uniform illumination for the treatment area. The ultra-sharp edges of the light beam ensure dazzle-free treatment. The faceted structure of the non-imaging mirror optics also provides uniform colour for the entire illuminated area.

Planmeca SingLED operates at very low power, without compromising the light intensity. The hands-free adjustment of the light intensity ensures perfect hygiene. The operating light can be controlled using the control panel or the on/off switch, or simply by waving a hand in front of the light head – whichever best suits the user’s needs. In addition, the operations of the light can be pre-programmed to follow the automatic patient chair positions.

The horizontal arm of Planmeca SingLED is exceptionally long, ensuring perfect illumination of the entire mandibular area. The operating light has removable and autoclavable handles on both sides.

Planmeca Delight operating light

Planmeca Delight provides cool, shadowless light in optimum colour temperature, minimising eye strain and illuminating the entire operating area uniformly. The refl ector is small and easy to position with one handle. The handle cover is removable for autoclaving. The user can turn the light on and off, and adjust the intensity both from the lamp handle and from the dental unit. The operating light can be programmed to be switched on and off in selected chair positions.

Integration of intraoral X-ray unit

The Planmeca Intra intraoral X-ray unit can be mounted on the dental unit. This type of mount is highly attractive in surgeries which do not allow the X-ray unit to be ceiling or wall-mounted. The X-ray unit is within easy reach, but can also be completely stowed aside when not needed. The solid fl oor-mounted unit frame and the rock-steady X-ray unit arm contribute to performing easy and straightforward imaging procedures.

Large OP tray

The optional over-the-patient tray can hold a variety of items such as sundries, hand instruments, and other accessories. Featuring a sturdily constructed arm, the tray is always within easy reach for the dentist as well as for the assistant. The arm moves smoothly and provides a wide range of precise height adjustments.

Flat LCD monitor

The unit-integrated 17’’ LCD monitor provides access to all clinical data at chairside. Ergonomically positioned, it provides superb brightness and a wide viewing angle, minimising eye strain.

Comprehensive dental software

Planmeca Romexis is a complete clinical software that includes a digital dental record with embedded clinical content. It offers comprehensive functionalities for clinic management and dental imaging, including 3D imaging. With a complete set of tools for image viewing, enhancement, measurements, and annotations, Planmeca Romexis also improves the diagnostic value of radiographs. Printing, image import and export, as well as DICOM functionalities are also included.
