Considerations…

• How well does this module fit with the other modules I have taken/will be taking?

• Will the module content help with my plans after graduation (e.g. postgraduate degree, career plans)?

• Will the forms of assessment develop valuable life skills in which I require training?

• Can I see myself sustaining enthusiasm for the topic to degree-level detail over the whole semester?

Online Module Choice Process • The University online module choice (MUSE) opens on:

• Tuesday 3 May 2016, and will close on:

• Friday 20 May 2016.

• You will receive an email from Registry Services on how to access online module choice.

• Modules are allocated on a first-come, first-served basis.

• Some modules may be popular, therefore you may not be allocated your preferred module.

• Please take this into consideration and ensure that you have at least two reserve module choices per semester.

Online Module Choice Process • Once you have entered your choice of optional

modules the department will check and either approve, or reject your choices (depending on spaces available).

• Please ensure that you check your emails on a regular basis.

• You may not receive an immediate response to your module choice submission as the department will be dealing with a large number of requests. Please be patient at this busy time.

Online Module Choice Process • If you receive an email rejecting your first choice,

this is the point when you will be required to resubmit an alternative module choice online for approval (your reserves).

• If there are any problems you will receive an email from the department advising you what action to take.

• Once modules have been accepted student records will be updated overnight and modules added to their record.

Course Registration

• Online Module Choice is NOT registration for the year.

• Over the summer, you will need to register for the next academic year once you have received your level 1 results (via MUSE); we will notify you.

• If you don’t do this, you will not be able to log into MOLE.

Fixing your timetable… • We submit our room bookings requests in May;

these are only confirmed by the University in late July.

• At the end of August, you will be contacted by email with dates when you will be able to sign up for seminar groups on MOLE.

• Add/Drop: you may be able to change modules very early in the new semester.

• DO NOT rely on this as there is no guarantee that places will be(come) available. • You may also miss important course content • Moral: Take Online Module Choice seriously!
