• Put students in small groups. • Give students a dice and counters each. • Ask one student to roll the dice and move their counter the correct number of spaces. • If they land on a square with a verb, they must say the past simple form of the verb. • If they land on a ‘Make a sentence’ square, they must say a past simple sentence with the verb given. • If they land on an ‘Ask a question’ square, they must ask a question to another member of the group using the verb given. • If they land on a ‘Right or wrong?’ square, they must decide if the sentence is grammatically correct or not. If it’s not, they should correct it. • If the student is successful, they can stay where they are. If they aren’t correct, they should move back to their previous position on the board. • The first student to reach the end of the board wins!
